I received the same call today from 812-218-3144 on my home phone. They also knew my address. I will file a complaint with the FTC.
I have received 4 calls from this number today at approximately 2 hour intrevals. I did not answer because I did not recognize the number. This is the most annoying thing I have experienced to date. And to find out that it is a census bureau scam is really pissing me off! I was alreadly mad I was inconvienced by those people but NOW I get a scam off this crap! I WILL answer the next call and give a Rusty response. They wont call again I bet!
My wife verified that this call is legitimate and the CB is the caller. It is however a good idea to check your case number and the number from which it originates and never give personal identification unless sure of caller.
All you had to post was this :"It is a questionnaire about small business health insurance crap..give them HELL!!!..I did ..I refused to answer "everything else is a political rant that provides no useful information and doesn't help anyone try to find out where these calls are coming from and how to stop them.
These people need to quit! Just got another call. I think I confused this weird woman. She may let up a bit for a while. heheheheheh. lovin' this.
I was told by an attorney that in his humble opinion one does not have to answer the american census survey because it is a SURVEY not a census. He offered to call 911 if they kept harassing him and his wife at their home and they finally left them alone. I just sent the survey people a letter telling them my official response to their survey is I won't answer their invasive questions. Hopefully they will leave me alone too. Too much of our private information is on the web without our permission let alone having strangers harassing us in our homes and forcing us to tell all.
"I did not feel violated by this survey. "Then you have absolutely no shame. I have received the American Community Survey or whatever it's called in the past. The Federal Government (or state or local) have no right to ask questions such as "do you need assistance to go to the toilet" (yes, that's a question) to "what is your total household income and all of the sources." I feel violated just by them asking. BTW, I am a lifelong Liberal, and usually vote Democratic. But this is just so way over the line.
when I called this number back, I got a message that it had been disconnected and it had only been about 10 minutes. My theory is that it's because it's a link to phone lines in India---are all of your callers foreign--Indian sounding? Mine are. I told them off today. Told them I had returned the stupid survey and if they couldn't get their act together to determine who has and who hasn't, then it's not my problem and don't ever call me again. We'll see.
