They've called me twice asking why I didn't send in the 32 page nosy census form they sent. I told them I threw it in the fire and had no intention of answering their intrusive questions. My caller ID said Census Bureau.
PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU WOULD DO-???I received the" American Community Survey"- asking me to give the Federal Government many pages of very personal/family information; such as-- when do I leave my home for work, our phone #, questions about our kids, do I have a mortgage , my major in college, what is inside our home etc. etc. etc.So far I have received threatening phone calls -even late at night if I don't complet the survey. Next they might make personal calls at our home, and maybe visit our neighbors with questions about our family . All paid by the U.S.Census Bureau -Please take a look at the links below - and tell me what YOU would do-(Note- We did received the Constitutional based census last year and returned it --with how many lived at our address--That is All that is required. )please email me with information on what I should do ptsail449@msn.com I also just reported this to the Att. General for Wa. state
I had a simular experiance. Woman called claiming to be from Census Bureau and did not have my correct address. And doing a search of the phone number did not come up with Census but Ameritech. They are trying to get information and so far I have told them no due to privacy and security concerns.
RE:"Hope I was able to shed some light on these calls. Have a great day!"Yes, you convienced me totally that the calls are b.s., you are probably involved in the scam and I will continue to hang up, swear your troll callers out as I please and do what I can to make your day a bit the worse for your wretched schemes. What you hope to gain with your lengthy trolling post is a mystery. However, I don't blame Obama for your little con. I blame you and your psychopath friends. Break a leg!
Just received a call. She said it was the Census Bureau and asked if I'd received the survery form to fill out. When I replied, "No", she said she could do the survey over the phone. I told her I'd rather fill out the form. She had my street address -- I told her we do not get mail delivery in our small town and she said they don't deliver to PO Boxes. She still wanted to do the phone interview. Told her no. She replied that it is a "mandatory survey and if the form is not received someone would have to come to the house to get the information". I said OK. I just can't believe it has anything to do with the offical US Gov't Census. They will send info to PO Boxes.
I followed this number to the Jeffersonville IN Census Data Processing Center. I checked the name my caller gave and it came up with a different phone extension in the same facility.
I keep getting calls from this number and the caller does not identify themselves. They want to ask me personal questions, but before they can ask the questions, they need to verify my phone number. I tell them my phone number is private and I pay for my phone services, and it's no ones business what my phone number is. The lady asked if I received a form in the mail from the Census Bureau and I told her we don't have a mail box. I told her to quit calling me. I think it's a scam and a bonified government agency would not go this route to gather information on you. Heck the IRS already has it! I get calls all the time from collection agencies looking for someone who does not live in my home! IMHO it's a scam--someone trying to steal your identity!
I received a call from the number that is the subject of this thread. (812-218-3144) I looked up the number in reverse directory. It is the number of the Jeffersonville IN Census Data Processing Center. I went to the census.gov web site and looked up the name the caller gave me. That name is listed on the staff of that facility. After picking at his explanations for a while, I decided to answer his questions. They were read from a form that could only have been a Census Bureau instrument. (I've done those things in the past.) For this to have been a scam, someone would have hacked the facilitiy's phone number, made "Census Bureau" come up on the caller ID and either planted the name in the facility's web site staff list or impersonated a staff person. "Impossible?" no. "Absolutely a scam based on the evidence available?" possibly but improbably so, or possibly paranoia.
Throw it away. Refuse to comply with goverment invasion of your personal privacy. If you get a call from the number that has been "threatening" you don't answer. If you do asnwer, demand that they stop calling. If they keep calling after you have told them to stop, have a metal whistle handy and blast it at them. No one has ever been prosecuted for refusing to comply with this insane invasion of privacy. If you answer, it only encourages them. You cannot be forced to answer. Period.
