I got Bens calls yesterday and today.

Original call was from phone # 202.5160.8288: Hi there my name is Ben PLEASE call me back today with a copy of your electric bill so we can apply these savings for you that it looks like you guys might qualify for I will be at my desk all day today you can call me at my direct number is 847-423-0080 just takes minutes to apply give me call back today. BLAH BLAH BLAH. BLOCKED

Same "Ben" left a message today about electric bill savings...phone never rang, no record of call on caller ID, but had the voicemail from him.

I got a call from this number telling me that I could save on my electric bill. no company, and the call came from DC originally... (202) 516-8262... I called back, asked for Ben, and they hung up on me...

This is how this works: you give them your name, address and most importantly your electric company account number. By doing this, regardless of your permission, a sales person of a third party has electric supplier can switch your account and charge you whatever they want as a rate. NEVER EVER provide your info to anyone.

This is a weird one. My cell phone did not ring and there was no number on my caller ID, but a message was left by "Ben" on my Verizon voicemail to call 847-423-0080 today to get a reduction in my electric bill. Obviously a scammer. I have no clue how they got into my voicemail without my phone ringing. I had not been on another call. By pressing 5 in voicemail, I was given 972-453-1499 as the calling number. This happened on both my cell phones today. Judging by what others are saying, these people are spoofing various numbers, then somehow getting directly into our voicemail and leaving these messages. It's going to be really hard to block these calls. Blocking 847-423-0080 is not going to cut it.
