Police said this is a scam call

Police said 8474230080 and 8173450338 are scam numbers

Just got the very same call from Ben. Same message. Call came from 214-983-1787, but told me to call 847-423-0080.. of course no company name was given.How sad people will fall for this.

12/30/16 9:56AM Message left from a phone number 1-513-725-4138 at 9:56AM" This is Ben PLEASE call me back today with a copy of your electric bill so we can apply these savings for you that it looks like you guys might qualify for. I will be at my desk all day today you can call me at my direct number is 847-423-0080 just takes minutes to apply give me call back today" I WILL NOT CALL BACK

CID said 469-214-8229, Palmer, TX “Hi there my name is Dan please give me a call back today with a copy of your electric bill so we can apply the savings for you but it looks like you guys may qualify for more um I'm gonna be at my desk for the reminder of the day and you can reach me on my direct line here at sure 847-423-0080 I just text Minutes to apply this for you it's free want to take advantage of it give me a call back today thanks bye…” the number given is a Chicago Suburb. Total Scam!

Not often scammers leave live voicemails. But Ben did. Offered to lower my electric bill. Same script. Not sure how the message was left without the phone ringing, but call came from 513 area code according to the automated message information. Call-back number is local to Chicago area. Duh...scam red flag. I've worked in the utility industry and know the scam. They want your account number so they can slam you with high-priced services. Don't ever fall for this...stay with your utility...especially if an illegal telemarketer calls. Treat your gas/electric account numbers as you would a credit card or social security number.

I received a voice mail from Ben as well, 847—423-0080 telling me he had information in the amount that needs to be applied as a refund towards my electric bill. Glad I looked the number up,and found these comments. How can these ppl do this? How is it legal? Isn't this fraud?

Received call 5-23-17 at 3:44 pm. Callerid name: SKOKIE IL. Woman wanted info from my electric (Comed) bill. Very persistent. I asked enough questions to feel confident I was being scammed, Now blocked.
