Same thing but in 2018. They also said I could write to a PO Box without a Scotiabank address.
Same number called me I answered and no one was there. 3 days later called again I answered they said they were the bank that I use and asked me to confirm my name and date of birth. Was an automated voice not a human. I knew it was a scam and hung up. 3 hrs later another call comes from different number doesn't ring goes straight to my voicemail and they leave this number 855 976 6576 and a p.o. box 403 don mills Ontario m3c 2t2SCAMMERS
same thing here - and they are calling every single day
I have the same call. Googled the number and find it's a scam
Just called Scotiabank and asked them about the number that I received a call from (822 320 6431) and the number that the automated message asked me to call (855 976 6756). They did confirm that these two numbers are LEGITIMATE. They are the numbers associated with the Scotiabank's National Collection Agency. When I asked them why I was called, it was because I missed the minimum payment due date (which I indeed did).I would recommend that if you feel suspicious about calling this number back or providing your information over the phone call, then DO NOT call back. However, please check and ensure that you have paid all your bills on time via online banking. If you believe you have, call the number that is present on Scotiabank's site or on the back of your card and confirm with them if there are/aren't any issues with your bank account. On a side note, I had not called the number (855 976 6756) so I cannot confirm or deny that it is a legitimate number--I am just stating what I was told from the Scotiabank representative that I called. I would strongly advise not to and speak directly through Scotiabank's number to sort out any issue.
Sorry, the caller number was the following: (822 320 6431)
Important message at call centre.
Got a call from 844-320-6431 with an automated message telling me it was Scotia bank and to call them back at 855-976-6756. They asked me to punch in my month and year of birth to confirm it was me, so I hung up.The voicemail was very well done and sounded professional.I called Scotia and this is definitely a scam.
Scotiabank scam. I've blocked every number they call in on and they STILL leave that cryptic message. Scotiabank doesn't request personal information via automated system like that.
