I receiived a call on my cell phone from this number, they hung up before I answered

Hung up after two rings...make this stop!!!!

I have been getting a LOT of no answer calls lately and tried to block them with call screening, which would not work! I called AT&T and asked why a number starting with a 1 would not block and was informed there are no exchanges that start with a 1! That the caller id number was probably spoofed and the call originated elsewhere. Today I received a call from 858-412-0172 and the caller initially did not answer when I said hello. He then came on the line asking for a Rowena Jones! I have received calls in the past asking for this person and expect it is a telemarketer or bill collector. I told him there was no such person at my number and he seemed satisfied. Afterwards I was able to block this number with call screening.

A woman named Frankie called me from this number claiming to be from the "Home Design Center" and she asked me how I was doing.My response was that I'd be doing better if she added me to her DO NOT CALL list, since I did not request this solicitation call.She responded with a petulant "Well I didn't ask to call you either, it just popped up on my computer screen."Bad enough that I had to interrupt what I was doing to get the phone but for her to cop an attitude as though *I* were the one annoying her, is just ridiculous.

first they call private - when you dont answer they call back from a number that says "unknown" then finally they end it with this 858 number. happens everyday, multiple times a day.

Same old ... same old! Call ... ring ... do not answer ... they get voice mail ... they hang up and they dial right back! There is one and only one way to combat this nonsense ... never ... ever ... answer the phone calls from numbers you don't know or are not in your "trust list"! If is a legitimate call ... they'll leave a message!Anyway ... 858-412-0172 (San Diego) is still at it! :(
