The people calling from this number are trying to walk you through downloading their malware onto your computer by claiming to be (at least on the call I got) from GEEK, the technical support department of all Windows users.I don't even know where to begin telling you what is wrong with that statement, but I digress.I work in information security, and these types of attacks are getting more common, because it is getting tougher to get into corporate environments as companies invest in better security tools. If you knew enough to look up this number, you probably wouldn't have fallen for it anyway. But tell those you know who aren't terribly technical about this scam, so they don't get caught in it.Be safe out there everyone. Cyberterrorism is very real.

A muslim sounding woman called and said she was from Geek Support for Windows 10 operating system and that my computer was infected and was sending virus's out onto the Internet. hmmmm. I asked her the name of the person she was trying to reach and she just kept saying I'm calling about your computer. I said Ok, but who is the owner of the computer you are calling about? She said again " I'm calling about your computer it has a virus". I said "really? It's working just fine". I asked what her name was and she said Sarah Johnson, LMAO, I said are you sure, you sound like a Mohomeda, She said I'm calling from connecticut. I said well give me your number and I will call you right back. She gave me a number 516-210-0398, which is somewhere in the midwest, not Connecticut.. Then she said "don't blame Geek support if you have your identity stolen because of the virus you have" and she hung up.. LOL I love to drive these goat F**kers crazy. What they are trying to do is get you to give them control of your computer remotely and then they install a virus that steals your personal information and then they want you to pay them to get rid of the virus Not happening!

Person with a heavy foreign accent said he was calling--on my cell phone, which number I RARELY give out--to tell me my computer was sending "unauthorized messages" over the past couple of weeks. I asked whom he represented; he said "Microsoft systems." I said that didn't tell me much; he repeated it. I then said, I'm not interested, and hung up. Clearly a scam.

Recd phone call from lady who spoke with some access asking me to turn on my computer because there was some problem. Asked for her name and phone number so that I could report her to the police. She hung up. I blocked her number.

Just had this call. Poorly spoken english, sounded like someone from China speaking. Apparently they have detected that I am having problems with my computer and would like me to turn it on so they can run a diagnosis. Told her I didn't have a computer... Guess they don't have a scripted answer for that reply :-)

They call my cell repeatedly about an operating system I do not have.

These people actually claim to be the 'Geek Squad', but don't be fooled, they are not the reliable, knowledgeable Best Buy - Geek Squad. I was almost a casualty of 860-646-5825, but caught on an turned my computer off. They call me just about every day, I have them blocked, but right now I have 35 blocked calls from them. I wish there was something we could do.
