Waiting for an important call and answered----Free cruise garbage

They just called my cell phone a few minutes ago. The caller was from my area, so out of curiosity I picked it up (knowing it advance it was likely a scam). It was a recorded male voice telling me his "name" and he has an important message for me. That I am a valuable customer (never said of what), and that I recently stayed at one of their resorts (I never stay at resorts!) but didn't take advantage of their discounts (I always do, so he would have been lying IF I had ever stayed at a resort). He started mentioning a promotion, and that's when I decided to hang up on him. I blocked the number on my phone. With all the blocked numbers, no wonder telephone companies have to create new area codes because we are running out of numbers.

Called, left no message. I called back and it said the phone number had been disconnected two minutes after they called me ??

Kimberly.Same here.I have AT&T and also don't have a new phone.Probably another scam.

calls often and then hangs up as others have said. I remember back when phones were monitored by the phone companies, and they were not allowed to do this...the Good Ole Days...

Picked it up thinking it was a co-worker, automated message talked about how I'd won a cruise to the Bahamas. I hung it up soon as I heard that.

Called my cell, said I won a free cruise- I hung up after hearing that.

Received a call from this number. Said I had recently stayed at their resort and left without getting my package for a free stay. I hung up. SCAM

Call just came through at 12:40 p.m. I almost answered it, as it appears to be a local call, but I figured if it was important, they'd leave a message. No message left. That's when I Googled the number.

Called cell today no message.
