They did it to my ederly father also - scammed him - said it was an upgrade. It was Vision Security though. I have talked to them and they were very rude. I won't answer their calls any longer - they said they were going to sue - I said go ahead! Never heard anything yet.
Called main company line and I hung up the phone. Based on reviews they are a debt collector, but refuses to give out any info regarding a "debt." Laughable. I'm not falling for that one. If a coworker owes any debt, we would be getting more than just phone calls.
Debt is NOT a family thing. Unless their signature is on the contract, they are not obligated in any way. If the person who owes the money dies, you are not obligated to pay their debts, unless your name is on the loan. Don't even waste your breath taking to these bottom feeders. I'm sure the way interest rates are, the original creditor has received their money ten times over before this went into default anyway.
Trying to collect for a security system installed in my apartment which I did not order.
Get a consumer attorney, and track the calls. After a certain number of calls (not sure how many) it is considered legal harassment. You sue them, you are compensated. May I also suggest a good, metal whistle. On your key chain. The minute a voice is raised or an expletive is spoken, give it to 'em. Your daughter did the right thing by not giving out any information.
