The calls go *way* down if you just flat out tell them no and that you won't give them any information about anything. It's when they sense that their pry bar might be getting under the carapace that they start calling a lot.
getting these calls all day and weekends. harassment to no end. do not and will not answer these calls.
The company is Carson Smithfield who was once known as Cardwork Services.Typical BOTTOM FEEDING SCUM SUCKERS!!!Have BLOCKED their calls over a year ago, but they STILL call daily......Some guy name Berman is the main principal of the company.......he's the HEAD BOTTOM FEEDING SCUM SUCKER!!!
Called and left a long message for me.. statute of limitations is 6 years in Colorado. Account was included in Bancruptcy 12 years ago. WTH?
This is something that is frequently misunderstood. When the statue of limitations expires on a debt it does not become void. It simply means that you can no longer be sued for it and the credit bureaus will no longer report on it. However, collectors are still permitted to attempt collections on any debt regardless of its age as long as they do so within the confines of consumer protection laws. Granted, they usually have little success collecting on old debt and anyone that pays will restart the debt clock or have it reported again on their credit file. Fact remains, the age of a debt does not preclude collection attempts.
I have received MULTIPLE calls from this and a few other numbers all tracing back to this carson smithfield.. i finally called back and when i gave them my phone number they asked for the former owner of my house! i told them he used to own my house but has NEVER had my phone number.. they say they removed me from the list but who knows!
The bottom feeder is the person who opens a credit card, uses it to charge to the credit limit, then refuses to pay a dime for thier purchases and blames the credit card company.
I get calls from these people all the time.when I don't answer they ask to speak to my husband. I tell my daughter not to let anyone speak to my husband that ask for me.How can u block a phone from your home phone? It just say toll free number.
got in a serious medical situation a few years back & I owed big $$ to advanta, and as I was raised to pay my debts, I called the FDIC as I knew they were in receivership, the FDIC told me that C/S was hired to collect and they kept a small fee the rest went back to the FDIC. I called C/S and their first offer was 30%, good enough for me.... the rep at C/S was very professional & courteous . unlike those a&& holes at midland credit who are the biggest lying scum on this earth..
If you have, say a phone by Uniden you can simply add the number to your phone's speed dial list (you may want to replace the "Unknown Caller" with "Carson Smithfie" by using the keypad to edit the name). Then you assign it a custom ring ... one of the custom rings is "no ring" which means you won't hear the phone when they call. They're not exactly blocked, but they're not interrupting anything either...
