Start notating when they call, who you spoke with, and what was said. On the first call you notate you should inform them that if the calls do not desist that you WILL be contacting any and every authority and filing complaints against their company. Usually they'll either say that they can't do that or that they took the number off the account and it'll take 24-48 hours for the calls to stop. If they continue, contact every State Attorney General you can (yours and every one in every state in which they claim to do business). That's my plan for CitiBank =)
I have received three plus calls a day from this number and no message. They are calling my cell phone and my caller ID picked up the number. It did not come through as Unknown. I have no reason to be contaced by a collection agency and am becoming concerned. After reviewing this site I have sent an email to US Bank and hope to get some clarification. This is definately harrassment.
This is a legitimate #. They are like a central hub for different cc companies. US Bank, Elan etc. They make calls if you are late on a cc payment. They do need you to verify your address and last four of SS# in order to discuss your account. They did not ask for my cc information after I explained I had caller ID and wanted to know why they were calling. They do confirm any financial instution you make have received your cc from.
i would have to agree. I gave my information and more was taken than what was agreed. Also, they like to call almost one an hour starting from 7am-10:00 pm. I dont need to be disturbed at work when i am trying to help customers. I tried to send money, but in their record they say no payment was received. Keep sending money and finding to payment is recieved is rediculous. I keep getting told, that if i just give my bank account info, all will be solved. Um, no just more money stolen from my account.
i received at least 3-5 times they call a day. They call at least 3 times week also. I have not put my cell phone on silent so I don't hear it ringing.
I closed my USBank account almost a year ago and thought this would automatically cancel my USBank credit card, but it did not. Today I received three calls between 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. from 877-838-4347. Never left a message. Googled the number and found this page. Then I went to U.S. Banks website and found the number for REI Visa. I called that number (1-877-734-8742) directly and asked to speak with a representative because I wasn't quite sure how I had accumulated $68 of charges with a canceled account. Contrary to other users experiences, the woman I spoke with was actually really helpful. She explained one $28 charge was from Consumer Reports (darn those automatic renewal subscriptions!), and that the other $40 was from interest and late fees. The woman canceled my late fees and interest *without me even asking her to*. The only thing I think she tried to subtly avoid doing was canceling the card. However, she was not rude at any point and did not try to pressure me into keeping the card. I approached the situation calmly and spoke to her respectfully, and she did the same. I guess I will submit another post if I get another call, but I expect the problem is taken care of.
they keep calling my cell phone (I use min.) I have called them from another phone only to have them tell me I owe them money. I don't even know this place! They just keep trying to get more and more personal info out of me. This place calls about 4 to 5 times a day! Please STOP calling!!!! I'm not in debt to anyone!!
Repeatedly calling, never leaves a message AND the few times I've answered no one was on the line! I've read the other messages and am confident this is a scam. I don't own money, so why are they calling me...I'll tell you why. They're fishing for personal information. Don't give it to them.
I too are getting these calls for a person that does not live in my house. Man, I am so ticked off. I am at the point where I am trapped inside my own home.I am afraid every time the phone rings that it is a call from a sibling about my ailing parents.I am stressed out so bad right now and as I said before ticked off, because the phone line is tied up by these numb nuts. What can be done about it !!!!
