called me just now...left message about an urgent message and that I should call back. Of course I will not call back.

This number belongs to Verizon. They call but always hang up if you call in on your Verizon number the system will automatically pick up who is calling them back. Anyway it is Verizon Residential calling to remind you a bill is about to be due soon as a reminder this is a courtesy call, I see it as an intrusive call.

It’s Verizon . Checked my account online and sure enough I had shorted them.17 cents on my last payment. Ha ha

I don't even have to check my machine. I know this was Verizon, I recognize the number by now and I recall getting a "bill reminder" e-mail this week. They called me on my home phone (part of their triple play package) and also my cell phone which does not usually get scam calls. This is the quickest they have ever harassed me about a late bill, only a few days late!It is so annoying and shady that they do not just put "Verizon Fios" on the caller ID. I guess they are trying to trick people who are avoiding their bill into answering the phone, but I never answer any unknown calls. Plus this time they woke me up on Saturday morning!If you get one of these calls and don't have a Verizon account, they are probably looking for a previous customer who bailed on their bill who may have had the same or similar phone number or address as you. It is not Verizon but they are authorized by Verizon to collect, even for current customers. If you do have a Fios account but you are still wary it is being spoofed, do not give them any payment info on the call and tell them you will call back later, and either call Verizon directly, mail in a check, or pay at one of the ATM like machines in a Verizon store. There is no reason to be scared of this number, it is legit, but definitely a shady way for a legit business to operate.

I received a call from this number earlier today. They left a voicemail for "Susan Blaine", re: her Verizon account, instructing her to call them. We are Verizon customers but my name is not Susan Blaine. I am not going to call.
