I received a voice mail from this number say that they were notifying me of fraudulent activity on my debit card. I was skeptical so I call my credit union first and yes, there were many attempted charges on my debit card today from all over the world. So, this is a legit group that was calling me to let me know of the activity on my card.
it is a valid company PSCU Credit Services monitor credit cards VISA for fraudulent activity. my bank told me they were perfectlylegit and to call them
They call and leave a "case number" on voicemail telling you "it's very important you contact us and reference your case number." Visa Debit card. It was for Bruce somebody, my name isn't Bruce...
This number left a message with a name, number and case number. I returned the call and was put on hold. So, I called my credit card customer service number. They verified that there was some unusual activity on my account and fraud protection was, in fact, checking on it. They transfered me over to fraud protection. I had the case number from the original call. The charges were legit, so no problem, but I am glad they are monitoring.
Called my CU right away and they said it was a security company they used for member card security .... Falcon is a valid security company for a CU in Michigan and I should return their phone call.
Yeah, it's a valid fraud protection service. Called the number on the back of my CC, they verified a card hold due to probable fraud, verified that the message I got and the 1-888-918-7313 number was legit, and connected me with this same service. Someone in Jackson, Wyoming is running CC fraud attempts for less than $10.00 to see if it clears.
1-888-918-7313 This number is NOT legit. I called them and they didn't even have my name in their system so I started to get suspicious. I provided my name and zip code and they still couldn't verify it so I told them I will just call my CU to verify my card. Thank goodness I did because they said their security dept is with Falcone and the number I gave them is not registered with that company. CALL your bank/CU first before giving any info to any so-called security dept from your bank/CU!!!!!They were only able to charge $1.39 on my card to see if they were able to use it, but I was able to shut it down before they could do any more damage.
I got the call in the evening and so couldn't call my credit union. I called the 1-800 number on the back of my credit card and they said it was their fraud department phone number, so I returned the call. I wasn't asked any questions except whether or not I had tried to use the card at a couple of retail places in Minnesota that day. When I said I hadn't, they then cancelled my card and said I would receive a new one in 7 to 10 days. Thank goodness for these folks! They never asked for any personal information, but did tell me the address they had on record for me, and I verified that it was correct.
I received a call from 800-918-7313 claiming they worked "with" my credit union... they went on to tell me charges I had made at a gas station and a restaurant 2-3 days apart so I thought it was legit... called my credit union and they verified that this number was used for security purposes. a few weeks later I got a call from 888-918-7331...very similar number... message said to call my credit union and they used the credit union name. BEWARE the 7331 number is a scam while 7313 is legit.
Looks legit to me. Left a message saying they were Falcon, calling on behalf of my Credit Union, and they were calling about potential fraud on my credit card. I didn't answer -- because I was busy sending a note to my CU, because someone stole my XBox and used my credit card info to make several fraudulent transactions. If I hadn't caught the fraud already, these guys would be my best friend.
