Legit number. Called the number in the back of my card and getting a vm from it. There was fraud in my card and this number is the fraud division. If you get a call from them they will leave a message with a case number. Call the number on the back of your card and tell them about the message.
I got a call from PCE Securities about my credit union debit card, when I called the number back, the said the represented over 500 credit unions and kept trying to get information from me. I checked my account online and there were no transactions that I had not made. SCAM SCAM SCAM.
I called my credit union and verified the 888-918-7313 was in association with them. Then I called the hotline to be asked my phone number, name and case #, in that order. No additional personal info was required and the info I verified was all within the voicemail itself. The next couple minutes was just verifying purchases that I made in the past week. If you don't make the call and they do end up locking your card because they think it has been unreportedly stolen, don't take it put on the clerk at the place your card has been unauthorized- its not their fault
I received a message about my card from this number. After reviewing this site (50/50 if it was a scam) I contacted my credit union and found the company is legit and used by many financial institutions. There were several fraudulent charges made to my card which have now been canceled. Glad they called.
Got a call from at woman at the phone number. She asked me if I made purchases today at Wal-Mart. Not only do I not shop at Wal-Mart, but my husband and I were at home all day. She advised me to call our Credit Union to report this theft. She said someone must have made a card with our information on it.I checked our banking on-line and sure enough these charges were there. I called the Credit Union and this charge will be removed from our account.I was reluctant to speak with this woman, and was on guard to what information I gave her, but she didn't ask anything confidential. I was very satisfied and amazed that this transaction was found so soon.
Please listen, always contact your bank, credit union after receiving a call, with that said i am so glad they called me i was hit for $500.00 dollars of charges someone was able to breach my card, i am still in shock, Im in florida, and they are in kansas ....So please do follow up, contact your bank first and they will let you know if its a scam.....i hope this helps someone before it happens again....
Legit - Smaller credit unions use this service to monitor their members. They called my primary number, and then my secondary number so I called back. They provided me the information (my bank, my last in person transaction) to verify that I wasn't using the card in another state.
I received a call that went unanswered and thus received a voice mail from "Wendy"; caller ID 888-918-7313. Stating she was from my credit union security, performing a routine security check and I should return her call to the same number "as soon as possible". I did return the call, connected with someone, obviously not the original caller, with a very heavy accent. She started asking questions immediately, first for my name. I told her before I gave any personal information, I wondered why I had received the call. She hung up on me. Of course my bank was closed until tomorrow. I called VISA immediately and was told they have received many complaints and the call back number was not anyone that they used for the purpose of security or other wise. I'll be going to my credit union tomorrow morning. VISA is so convinced this is a scam that they have launched an investigation.Be careful, because the artists can and do make the calls, make the purchases and take your identity.
It IS a scam. They keep calling my parents again and again, asking for me (I haven't lived there in almost 20 years.) My dad refuses to tell them my real phone number. My credit union does have my phone number on their records, so I know these scammers aren't really calling from my credit union like they say they are.
