Left a message to have me call within 24 hours. Had a claim number that was put on his desk. Didn't matter if I called back that something would happen. Didn't leave me his name but was reading from a script.
Just alittle suggestion,When you talk to a good, nice and understanding person (collector) on the phone. You people (debtors) blow smoke up our [***],lie threw your teeth, are rude as hell. And sometimes AVOID AVOID AVOID even though "I promise I'll call you back" So logicly the next step is for the "nice collectors" to stoop to your level and be crude, nasty, mean and right out [***] them selves....Want to know the difference.... Collectors have a whole lot of YOUR personal info at there finger tips-Socials,Employment,Wages and Hours,Bosses' name and numb plus every single realitive. Some of which you haven't spoken to in a long time.Embarrasing when your cuz get's a collection call RIGHT? we'll My advice open your mouth. If you aren't going to pay Say SO,Stop pulling these poor collectors chains--Peace
They have an IDIOT named George - who is absolutely unprofessional. He needs to be TRAINED TO BE A COLLECTIONS MANAGER!He's an [***]<*&^!These people are on BAYMEADOWS ROAD...I AM ABOUT TO DRIVE DOWN THEREAND HAVE HIS [***] FIRED!!
This particular company tries to call me ONLY during the day on my cell WHILE I am at work. I am not allowed to talk on my cell while at work so I don't answer their calls. Then they turn around and call me at work at which time I explain I am unable to accept personal phone calls while at work. The "debt collector" continues to try to talk and I explain once again, with my supervisor standing nearby, that I am not allowed to have personal calls and hang up. They call back and speak with my supervisor who confirms no personal phone calls and they get ugly with her. They then call back and speak with our HR manager who confirms no personal calls are allowed. They even went to the president of our company. The really cool thing is that all of our phone calls are recorded. And, if you ask a debt collector to refrain from contacting you at work because it can put your job in jeopardy and they continue to contact them, you have the right to sue them. Which makes it easy for me to sue them since we have over 300 recordings from them. Life is going to be sweet when we win our lawsuit because the law is very clear on this matter. I also kept logs of the date/time that they called.Just a word of advice to each of you that is being harassed at work! Maybe the laws in your state will allow you to sue and maybe they will leave us alone at work!
Hey Mike, Just thought you should know that ignorant jerks like yourself really need a dictionary. Maybe that is why you work as a collector; because you never even finished grammar school. I took out a $200 payday loan because I AM in school. I repaid the loan, and whatever else they stipulate that you pay to get the loan. 4 years later I still get calls from rude, gross, ignorant, and demeaning people, such as yourself, about why I haven't paid the loan. Even though I have faxed them 24 copies of the loan payment, they still call. The first few times they called, I was nice. Then I ignored the calls. Now, I cus them out and tell them to f*** off and get a life. So, Mike, since you seem to be a true genius, do you have any words of wisdom?
no not all debt collectors are bad...some are actually quite pleasant to work with under the circumstances however these people are quite rude....I am not sure if its true in every state but here in wisconsin there are laws against them using profane language or yelling and screaming and of course threatening you all tactics that pdm collectors use. also if they deny payment arrangements have them put it in writing (which they most likely wont do) and take that to court...keep a record of phone calls also and more times than not a judge will throw it out because they refused payment
Your a genius ! You probably had the highest grades of all these clowns in school !LOL
Mike,Collection Agents DO have a lot of our personal info at their finfertips. They DO have to deal with rude people. They CHOSE their profession...AND THERE ARE LAWS REGARDING HOW THEY CONDUCT BUSINESS.With that being said, follow the laws and do not threaten to use our info in illegal or unethical ways. The law is balanced for both the debtor and the creditor UNTIL one tips that balance
NJABAOTP,I will agree that not all collection agents are rude or "scumbags". If you are not one of these people, work for a credible agency, and follow he law, i applaud you.One statement you made, however, leads me to think otherwise. Having a debtors life at your fingertips does not give anyone the right to break the law. You seem to forget that in this digital age, anyone can find anyone elses info out to the point that retribution could be taken.....just food for thought
Oh Angel....Seriously? You can't even get it right on a forum where you have all of the time in the world to think about what you are saying...Poor thing. So, the truth is that most payday loans were illegal at the time they were issued and most states will not pursue them. As most were under $1500, they would fall under small claims court IF the original debtor wished to push it. A DCA who purchased the debt will just harrass you until you require (through CERTIFIED mail) debt validation and include a Cease and Desist for contact. After that, they can be sued.As far as breaking an apartment lease, this is a debt that can be validated. You probably owe it. BUT it is still usually for an amount that falls within SMALL CLAIMS court jurisdiction. As for wage garnishment, a court CAN order that in order to satisfy a judgement in many states. In Florida, a wage garnishment on a head of household who earns under a certain amount can be ordered stopped. This sucks because the DCA may get one payment from you of up to 25% of your net pay... ONE TIME. Usually, your HR will inform you in enough time to take care of it before that ONE payment is made.So Angel, my advice to you is to follow the golden rule. You may be on the recieving end of the DCA one day and how would you want to be treated??
