Called today and left a message looking for my ex husband who I haven't seen in over 8 years. Didn't say what this was regarding or even what company they're from, just that the message was for him and involved an "important matter." Super weird.
I completely agree. I work for collections with a local bank. We don't threaten or act rude. We try to work with the customers. It's a Scam. These people are just trying to scare people into giving up money. It's a tool version of Nigerian Scam.

The same Mr. Howard keeps calling me. Everytime he calls he tells me I have until Friday to contact him. It has been going on since Jan. Have you heard anymore from him? I believe that cash land has turned the payday loan over to him to collect the balance due. He has also beed leaving messages on my sister's cell phone.

Comes up in my phone as a medical clinic, but when I called them they're some business that supposedly works with Medicare? I'm too young for medicare. Scam call.

Said they were from Bank of America calling me about a fraud alert on my account. When I told them I do not have an account with B o A - they hung up on me. Ironic!
They said it's a business call from northern light. Not real and clearly spam. Northern light must have its phone numbers data leaked.
