Got a call from 905-715-7399. Person who called did not pronounce my name correctly and stated it is very important to contact her immediately. Searched number and found out is one of BS Collection agencies based in Newmarket, ON. Name of the agency is: Collect Canada Ltd. located at: 1310 Kerrisdale Blvd., Suite #200 Newmarket, Ontario, L3Y 8V6. Company is owned and operated by Christopher Walker who is also The Treasurer of Newmarket Chamber of Commerce. If you receive a call from this number do not call back or relay any info to them. The best way is to contact the lawyer and ask him/her to send a fax and a letter to Collections Canada and they will back up immediately. If you receive another call or a letter from them your lawyer has all rights to charge them with harassment. Usually after they receive fax and letter they back up. Fax number: 905-715-7946.

You are whack. If you owe it, pay it. As a former debt collector I got to see a side of people that is terrible. Debtor's lie, cheat, and steal. They write bad cheque's and then change their phone number to hide from their obligations. Taking something and not paying for it is stealing. Everyone make bill collectors out to be the bad guys. They are keeping the economy going. Debt collectors are the good guys and if they contact you and you do not owe it then they will ask for proof and try to resolve the matter with the client. The burden of proof is on you. Do not hide because they will find you. They can call a neighbor to give you a message or a relative if they have not located you. If you take care of you matters before it gets this far then you will be fine. Stop being a scum bag and deal with your debt(s)!

Debts may be owed, but there is no need for the ignorant manner in which most collections agents cling to. And as some one who works in the Bankruptcy and Trustees field, no collection agency is allowed to harass you, your neighbors or other family members under any circumstances, EVER. This is an issue of ethics, and mroe often than not, many collections officers show little to no class or motivation to help those who are obviously behind on their debts. Collectors need to get a heart and a concience and know their limits. You ARE governed, for obvious reasons.

What noone seems to understand is collectors are pushed (usually by management) to act that way. Having their job threatened for not collecting enough, hitting the numbers they are supposed to hit. What you guys need to understand is that most collectors are people just like yourself struggling to put food on the table for their family too... They do have a concience and a heart.... Just the industry (which is not usually chosen.... Most collectors didn't want to 'grow up to be collectors' or go to school specializing in collections or something) that they are stuck in calls for a thicker skin.... Remember they are just ordinary people working a really S hitty job!!

This is a BS collection co. They keep calling trying to collect but I dont owe anything to any canadian co. I dont live in Canada but they keep calling me in the US. They keep calling even after telling them to stop.

This company is obviously now leaving text messages (without any content besides the number)to people with the same last name in a certain area code trying to contact their client. This is an utter violation of the clients rights and most completely a violation of my rights not to mention the long distance changes I have incured replying this company. This once ligit company should now be considerd a spammer and a violater of personal information, as they did give us the name of the client they were looking for. I have put in a complaint with the BBB and will bring information this to the notice of my MLA and MP.
