These people need to stop calling me and making threats. I'm not sure that is even legal. But the man is very rude and keeps threating me with actions . I am unemployed and have no income .
Same experience as the prior postings. Call and hang up. No mention as to why they were calling; however, it appears someone may owe for a medical billing after reading the posts. In response to the paralegal, I have been doing some additional research and noted the following: "Under HIPPA, the medical service provider likely broke the law when it told the collection agency that you had debt with them, revealing that you obtained medical treatment. That information is not permitted to go anywhere without your permission...especially to a collection agency or third party. Therefore, if you have medical debt on your credit report being handled by a collection agency (be aware that some hospitals have their own collection department which is not a separate agency and in this case is legal) then it is likely that the information was transferred in violation of HIPPA and therefore can be removed from the credit report in some way.The best way to handle this is to mail a certified letter directly to the original medical service provider detailing the debt and the collection agency which states that you did not give your permission for them to release any medical information to a third party or collection agency and therefore they are in violation of HIPPA. Demand that the information be removed immediately from your credit report or you will file a complaint." I am assuming that suit could be filed against the collection company and the medical provider.
I keep receiving calls from this company but they leave no message. I finally called them back to see who is calling my number. The person who answered asked if I was my stepson. I told him I was the stepfather and he does not live here and I have no contact with him. He said I would have to give them a better contact number or they would keep calling me. Apparently, my phone number was left as the contact number when my stepson ran up a doctor bill he will not make the money to pay in this lifetime. It doesn't seem right that they can call my home and harass me when the bill is not mine to pay. He is 35 years old and responsible for his own debts. I will try sending them a certified letter demanding the harassment stop. If that does not stop them, I will file suit. I told them to stop calling but they said this is the only number they have and I need to give them a better one if I want them to stop calling me. I don't have a number for him. It is not my responsibility to do their job for them. He hasn't had a job in several years.
oh and another thing texas guy....he "mc" clearly put in "his state" so he did his research from what it sounds like, and what it sounds like to me... is that your a straight edge pony boy that doesnt like to hear somebody else might be a little smarter than them because of what he did to the collectors... He never mentioned anything about trying to be a lawyer
They have called called me three times in the last two days. The first two times I missed the calls, the last time I answered and before they had time to speak, I said wrong number and hung up. That is going to be my new approach to all these unknown phone numbers.
Why has in taken so long to contact me about some questionable charges that happened in 2010? If you found a phone number to call me with, then you must of had some info floating around someplace. I think I'll just let the statute of limitations run out...you can't hurt my credit raqting since it is already in the stages of poor... ...so stuffit.
Those people are scammers. They pretend to be a Medical Co "Schumacher Group". They bill people for nonexistent medical service. They are hackers. They get some information - date when you got to hospital. Then they sent you bills and call you all the time. My husband has a medical care card J02 of Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami as low income patient. He doesn't have to pay for any service in the hospital. Only co-payments $40 for special treatments outside. When they call a first time I told them we have a J02 card. They ask me "What is it?" (!!!) I said, -You sent a bill for "medical service" IN a hospital. It means you work there. And you don't know what is it?! My husband has been in emergency waiting room a few hours. He didn't get any treatment. He's got a tomogram, temperature and blood pressure test. Hospital sent him a regular report - "0" payment.Schumacher Group sent us a bill - $1300+ for non-specified "medical service"!!!This as pure FRAUD. They are hackers and crooks. What they do is under a criminal law. They have to be stopped!
I have had them calling me for two months about a medical bill that I may or may not owe, the insurance company is reviewing the charges as to who needs to pay what. They call my phone and I try to answer but they hang up before I can speak with anyone. When I call the bill collector back, I tell them about the issue and they don't fix it. They also claim they sent me the notice of collections in the mail but I have not received it in 2 months. When asked about it they said their system says they did. Neither I nor my wife have signed for a collections letter. Very unprofessional company that doesn't do a good job of collecting debt. I would not hire them. They are unprofessional and lack the ability to collect in an apporiate manner.
