This is a company that seeks to profit from the financial debacle plain and simple. They attempt to use the moral high-ground as in well people owe their debts don't they? On the face of it that is a true though seriously flawed statement; and how is it that corporations, for-profit entities default all the time on their debt and they are not seen as being immoral?Factually companies use bankruptcy and other default strategies all the time in order to re-balance their balance sheets, funny how it is appropriate for them and not for the public!States Recovery is a Zombie Debt Collector, attempting to harass people in to paying on debts they are not even legally obligated to pay on! They also use very sophisticated phone technology to gain your number even if you are calling from a blocked phone. Tell them to kiss off!

I keep getting these calls asking for Shawn Powell. & I'm not Shawn powell. It's really annoying & it needs to stop.

Get repeat calls from them dozens of times a day. Can't get them to stop!

States Recovery Bottm Dweller Recovery trying to collect ancient debt that somehow has been passed around for well over decade. I guess Portfolio Recovery got tired of my FAX machine going off in ear. I don't owe any debt outstanding so not sure why they call, but your best bet is to HANG UP on them, the worst thing you can do is actually SPEAK to them, as therefore they will consider the debt 'live' and put you on their 'hot' list to call day or night. No, that national 'do not call' list is orthless, seems scammers like this always find loopholes around it.

I've learned that these calls are from a debt collection agency sub-contracted by Wells Fargo. What sucks is that up until I short-saled my condo I had really good credit - 780 credit score. Now after the short sale was approved and closed escrow I'm getting these calls even though I'm not legally obligated to pay this debt anymore...what should I do?
