I received a call at work and asked to call them back. I was taken back to get a call at work. I don't even have a CITI credit card. They were nice and apologized for calling the wrong number. I am freaked out that they know my name, work number and so on. DON't give out any information if they call. It's TOO weird.

These are all calls from a debt collector which claims to have a nearly perfect record making people file bankruptcy. He gets half of whatever you fork over as payment. He and his goons use all sorts of illegal tactics to get your number. They also use illegal tactics to get a judgement against you....whether or not you owe the bill! This has happened to me is the reason I know this. I have spent about 2 years tracking down this bum. He physically followed me to another state and told my neighbors I was a fugitive from justice and please help him get my personal information. I owe on a Citgo gas card and they obviously hired him. If they call back, call your local phone company and ask how to block their number. Sometimes they use a number which doesn't show up and your phone company will tell you how to use anonymous call rejection to block it that way. These people are scum and will stop at nothing to destroy you over half of whatever you own.

It was a call from the Home Depot part of Citi Financial, calling to verify my address, as some junk mail from them had been returned due to my moving across the country.

This is a phishing scam; they get your number from many sources and really can pick your identity. The economy is not the greatest and to avoid having people question the intentions of requesting your social #, they grab credit/collections data and begin to build a profile. The law in California has a choker on these collection callers, all you as a consumer have to do is simply tell them, "Stop Calling This Number!". Document the time and date, when they call again, ask the name and ID number of the caller; casually explain that either you lawyer or the local DA office has asked you to Provide records of who, when and regarding info to their office. Use these words and all calls will end, "Court ordered injunction or Class Action Harrassment on behalf of the people of your community". Overall Just tell them not to call any longer, if they try and be polite and kind, repeat th do not call!

Called and left a voice mail message stating they were from the “Shell fraud Division” and that they were alerting me that my Shell card “001” had been compromised and to call them at 1- 888-658-8396 to have it replaced. They are available 8:00 AM-3:00 PM 7 days a week and to use the 4 digit reference# XXXX

" Pay Your Bill"??!!!!???! There is no bill. Don't you read? Most of these people don't have an account with Citi Bank. I got called 4/4/2013 about my Citi Shell card and possible fraudulent activity. I don't have such an account! Don't have a Shell card. I was told it was in regards to card # 5. Not the last 4 digits of a card just card no. 5! I asked them to give me the last 4 digits of the card in question and was told they couldn't give me that information. EVERY credit card company identifies an account by the last 4 digits on the card. That's all they have. They don't have the remaining numbers for security purposes. I was told to give him all of my card account numbers and he will tell me which one they are calling about. This is a fraudulent company hiding behind various divisions... Fraud, late payments etc. they went from 2007-2012. Now 2013 they started again. Citibanks corp office knows nothing about these calls... So they say. I am wondering if Citi sold my information to some data company and it was bought. These people are frauds. Be careful!!!!!!

Sorry, it's gurl at the end, not gurk... Lol. Btw, I called the 972 # and got a fast busy signal like a number that one can not reach a person. Previous years, people got someone @ that number when they called. Now only the 888,800 etc. numbers.

CITIFINANCUAL AUTO SHOULD TRY AND NOT AND I REPET NOT HANG UP ON YOU EVERY TIME YOU TRY TO PAY YOUR DAMN PAYMENT AND ANSWER THEIR DAMN PHONES !!!!I MY FATHER AND MY SON HAVE BEEN TRYING TO PAY THEM STUPID PEOPLE FOR OVER A MONTH NOW AND ALL THEY DO IS CALL AND WHEN WE SAY YES THIS IS OR NO THIS IS THEY HANG UP !!THEY DON'T WANT YOUR MONEY THEY WANT TO HERASS YOU TO DEATH AND THREATIN YOU WITH VIOLENTS !!!!
