I got the same call. The outgoing calls come from probably a VoIP Service which can be spoofed. Meaning it looks like it came from a specific number but the number is fake. If it is a scam, I have no idea how they work because no one actually picks up.
I get these calls all the time they dial any number that comes into there system. They are working for the I want to pay to find out who called me company. Did you ever try and find out who called you and they are willing to have you pay 9.99 to give you that information?? well this is a booming business on the internet. I have a fax number that rings all the time with stupid numbers like the one that just called my skype number it never ends. Ant the Do Not Call List they feed into this. I have been on the Do Not Call List for over a year and I am getting more calls now than I did before I registered. It's all about the money and nothing else. Just ignore the ones you do not recognize let them move onto to someone else.
