It's the Repuplican National Committee. I just called them.

We get about 30 calls a day. We have caller id doesn't help much because if you don't answer they keep calling over and over. We bought a phone that included caller block, best investment ever. The phone rings once if number has been blocked they get a message stating number has been blocked. They can keep calling but never more than one ring.

Also got a call from 985-635-4267, New Orleans, LA prefix area code.. Did not answer. I have got about 5 calls this past week from this and other unknown numbers....also on Do Not Call List, doesn't appear to work so good eh?

I understand how you feel but better to just block them. A friend of mine uses a blow horn and when they say hello, she gives the horn.

thank you for the tone tip - I'm going to try it! this number has called me multiple times today, rings only 3x and disconnects since I don't answer. Seems the Feds with their "no call list" are not man-ing the fort at ALL ("security theater" using our tax $, just like TSA! what are they good for but nothing!) I'm also on the no-call list, get tons of solicitor calls, robo-calls, faux charity calls; if I accidentally answer, expecting a friend to call back, and tell those bums what they're doing is illgal, no-call list, etc, they just brazenly say "how's that working for you?!" Some will even call back beyond that just to entertain themselves harassing people - it's disgusting.

I do not answer when I do not recognize the number, but have been getting a lot of unknown, or private party, and am on the do not call list, doesn't seem to help a lot anymore.

Got a call and the guy asked for Mrs. said our last name wrong not that hard to pronounce so I told them they had the wrong number.

Got this call - usually don't answer if don't recognize, but occasionally do if I feel like annoying the telemarketer. (I once got an obscene caller to hang up on ME!)They asked for my mother. Giving her name to me, he said he'd code her number as 'wrong number'. When I asked what he wanted her for, he hung up.I tried calling the number back several times, but call won't go through. Knowing my mother, I doubt it's related to GOP! She's a big giver to charities (unlike GOP) so I assume it's some charity.

I get called to from these number. the number goes to fast busy when I call it..I think it's could be DNC. I get a lot of calls after signing up on barackobama.com.

I think someone is selling the Do Not Call List to telemarketers; my unwanted phone calls have gone through the roof since I put my number on it!!
