The Do Not Call list does not apply to legitimate charities and political groups. If you call the number back they have a message that allows you to add your number to their do not call list. I did and after listening to 20 secs you are give the opportunity to press 2 for add me to your do not call list and then enter your phone number. It works you just have to do it for each number that they may use. The other numbers that they have called me on are 858-291-0172 and 202-514-0072.

I have noticed that these creeps often use ID tags or acronyms that suggest a conservative or Republican association. My understanding is that when one follows these up, however, it generally turns out to be a fraudster not the organization they are posing as.
