Got a call and immediately recognized it as the "windows" scam. Told him I was really busy at work making money legally so rather then him taking over my computer I asked if I could just give him my CC number so we could get this over with quickly. He remained in character for longer then I expected until he finally said something regarding my wife. I then told him that my wife was mad because his Momma keeps coming around my place. Hasn't called back since.
He said his name is Richard. He called before. He said he was with Windows Support. He wanted me to play along with pushing the windows logo and the r key. He said it would help me look for problems. is there anyway to stop this scam?
Just recently changed my phone number and these people with accents from India keep calling and telling me the same song as the other posters here. I tell them that I know they are a scam, that Microsoft doesn't call people and Microsoft doesn't even have my number. I then tell them I am calling police (I don't but they don't know that) and yell at them to quit calling me which is great anger release management then I hang up! So sick of this scam!!
I have rec. a call that they are repairing a computer problem that I am having. I hung up.
Call from this # have come in twice. The first time, I was at a meeting and said I was busy. Two days later, same #. this time I just didn't answer. Good idea to be familiar with the numbers and/or the area code from which you could anticipate a call. Just don't answer.
This person called to my cell phone. I did not answer. I never answer a number I don't recognize. So I looked the number up on the Internet and found all the complaints.

Multiple texts from different numbers. Follows the same format, different names and
Claims to be from a roofing team. Somehow knows real name and city. I keep getting texts like this from different numbers, they stop responding when I ask how they have my number.
scam debt collector calling, asks to call a diff number, ignore
robo call asking to call a diff number.
Suspected spam. Phone rang twice and then hung up. No voicemail left.
