Mine is different. I called a 1-800 number about my sewing machine that was listed on the back of the machine. I heard a fast message saying "for a charge of $5.49" and then it told me to dial 10 15 15 8000. I hung up and googled it. Hopefully I don't get charged anything. I tried to call the 800 number again and got the same message. Definately going to be watching my phone bill

I called National Geographic Society about a future subscription and they referred me to 1-800-528-7889. When the party answered they referred me to 10-15-15-8000 which I did dial not aware that this was a scam. The recording advised that there would be a charge for using this "new" National Directory Service. At that point I began to feel the scam. They need to have the gas chamber when they are caught!! I hung up without speaking another word. I will watch for a scam billing on my next phone bill.. From what I have read, they will try to bill for $5.49. Good luck trying to collect it !!!

I got a message to call this number when I called the Customer Service number on a bill from the medical lab that did a test for me. I tried the number twice and both times reached a message telling me to call that number. I then looked up that number on here and found this posting. After that I tried the number a third time and got right through to the lab!! I told the customer service agent there what had happend. I will be keeping a very close eye on my phone bill!

oan is a certified scam! i know belive me. i know how it feels to be billed for something that you have not subscribe or even use it. i am 100% sure that it is a scam. belive me guys. go to the fcc and file a complaint how many people must have to pay for the something that they dont know about. you may just read this letter that one of the complainant but this oan is a scam.

Telephone number 101-515-8000 appeared on my telephone bill. Never called this number nor did I recognize it.If a call was received from this telephone number how can I be responsible for the telephone charge?

I received a charge on my Verizon bill (not the first time) for a directory assistance charge of 7.49, billed by OAN Services. I called OAN Services and they are crediting my account. I also called Verizon and they put a 3rd party billing block on my account so that this does not happen again.

I received a charge on my telephone bill (corporate/work) for my fax machine. When I called, the girl tried to tell me that it was charged because we either took a collect call on our fax, had internet services through our fax or bought something from a merchant via our fax phone. When I gave reasons why none of this would happen at our office, the girl then tried to tell me that we called a non-working number on our fax and got a recording telling us to call 1015158000. Apparently they change stories until they can get you to agree to the possibility that you did this. Finally, the girl agreed to reverse the charges but wanted my mailing address. No. I wouldn't give it to her. I demanded that they reverse it through my telephone carrier. This is not the first time that scams like this have happened through my telephone carrier. It takes multiple calles to the third party and a lot of angry discussions to get the charges reversed. I've had to call every month in the past and anticipate this will happen again!

I was trying to contact the Otis Elevator 800 number this evening. That 1015158000 message came on & mentioned $5.95 for directory service to get me to the company I wanted. Forget that! I googled 1015158000 and saw all your comments. I confirmed the 800 number with the 800 information directory and was able to get 24 hour Otis customer service. I'm sending a complaint to the FTC as others have suggested.

I called gateway services for help from my computer... they gave me a phone number for microsoft assistance 1 800 936 5708, then I got a recorded voice that told me for the price of $4.78 I could get help... when I called it I got nothing. I sure hope this does not show up on my next phone bill.
