Called the 1-800 number for American Publishers (APHearst...these are the people you order magazines from for high school fundraisers, etc). The 1-800 number has a recording that tells you to call 10-1515-8000. There is no mention of a charge. It just says that the 1-800 number has changed and that if you call the 10-1515-8000 number, you can get the new 1-800 number.I thought the number looked weird, but I called it and it was a recording asking you to enter the 1-800 number you are looking for. It then says it can't find it. I the went online and Googled the number and found out it was a scam. I called At&T and the person I spoke to said she would put something on my account that would credit me if I was billed (we'll see).This looks like it has been going on for years! I'll try a file a complaint with the FCC (as some above have said to do). But, I mean...COME ON! From my brief research, these scammers are taking control of legitimate business 1-800 numbers (some of them: B of A, the Veteran's Admin [re: Agent Orange], Blue Shield). This HAS to stop!

I had tried to get ahold of Best Buy at a number listed on a gift card.The listed number on the card was 800-716-7994.When I dialed that number I got a recording saying to call 10-15-15-8000.I did so(even tho it seemed like an odd number)at which I got another recording that had nothing to do with the name Best Buy.I was wondering if anyone else has been in the same situation where they called a different number and were redirected to call this number.To make it clear I did the calling to this number thinking it was an updated number for Best Buy.I WAS NOT CALLED FROM that number.

This caller called my brother-in-law looking for me. Hwe would not give them my number but told him he would let me know. said his name was Ken Hohnson and have me call 1-800-880-9685 ext 14812. Stateing we had a project going. i DONT know this person and have no project going. Called the number go a recording tell me to call 10 1501508000 or go to the web site. where I saw calling 10.com scam. I am sure glad I looked at this site first. I will be warnig my brother-in-law about this one.

I tried to call Peoples Gas 1-866-556-6001 and was told I had to call 1-101=515=8000. After I couldn't get through I got suspicious and tried Peoples Gas number and got through to Peoples Gas.
