It IS Medco. You can simply call the number back and figure that out. Stop telling everyone it's not Medco. ALSO, Medco DOES call you, especially if they have a question about your script or if you owe them money.
This is Medco -- They left a message and a callback number that was the same as the number given to me on the Medco website. When I called, they said that the address on the prescription I faxed was fuzzy and they needed to verify it.
Received 1st call yesterday @ 2:08pm. I tried to call it back to see who it was since no msg was left. Was Always busy. 2nd call today @ 3:08pm, I didn't get to the phone in time to answer it. Again I tried calling it back a couple times so far and busy. I searched the number and found what most everyone else did : LandLine Wyckoff NJ, but that's it. I do not understand why no msg to say who's calling, just common courtesy. Another interesting development: since this # started calling another # 1-800-268-570 with the last # missing calls but more frequent - almost hourly yesterday and today. I can't call it back and I'm not answering it since they don't have the decency to provide their full #. Seems quite shady. After a little research others stated it is related to this number. Seems both are from MEDCO (do not know if it really is MEDCO) trying to get your info stating they want to provide Rx through the mail. I haven't been able to confirm it, yet.
This number just called me and I didn't answer. They DID leave a message stating they were MEDCO and a pharmasist needed to speak with me regarding a medication I am taking. They gave a number for me to call back 1-866-546-8146. When I called back it said I had reached MEDCO. A pharmasist answered the phone and asked me about one of my medications that they noticed had not been filled in a while. He said they have a new diabeties center and that they are on hand for any diabeties questions etc. This was a legit call and the pharmasist was very courtious and helpful. Since I don't have diabeties, he said he would take me off of this call list. So I think this number must be for their diabeties center.
Hey morons--not everyone that calls you and asks for your information is trying to screw you....Yes, this IS Medco. When you sign up for your prescription drug coverage, you automatically give them the right to call you. Business with whom you are currently involved MAY call you. Also, the reason they ask you to verify your address is because your phone number could have been disconnected and later reassigned to someone else, and they don't want to give any of your Protected Health Information out to someone who isn't you. They may ask for your address, date of birth, or Medco i.d. number to authenticate who they are talking to. It's not that the rep doesn't have your information, it's that they are required BY LAW and BY POLICY, and risk termination of employment if they do not verify they are talking to the actual patient.
>>This is Medco idiot. i work for them.Really? That's how you speak to people when you claim to represent your employer? Just another reason to not do business with Medco I suppose.
first of all you never give out personal information to any one WHO CALLS YOU!!! this is a dead giveaway that it is not who they say they are almost every buisness that is lagit will have someone there to answer your call when you call back. comeon people use common sense don't listen to the people saying it is medco becouse i had a lawyer act on this number and it is not medco there is not even anyone at the address it claims to be it is a empty house .
I work for medco and I just got a call from this number as well. It was to troubleshoot my connection because I was having issues. They do call people to offer to switch from retail to mail order for your prescriptions. In 90% of the cases you will save money. If you get alot of medications every month it might pay to hear them out and have them price your meds.
Here is one to do something about getting shut down if you are really doing your job. Shut this out fit down.
