If this number is Medco, why would they be calling at 8:00PM on a Thursday night? A little strange for a company to do.
yes it's medco ,and yes they have to ask you a question to verify that it's you on the phone and not someone else most of the time they ask for your last 4 digits of your SS# I don't give anyone that because the first 3 are the state and within 10 years of your birth date so with that in mind then it only leaves a 2 digit to guess always give them your card holders #
I received a call from this number 10/7/2010. Did not answer, nor was a message left. I contacted Medco directly thru e-mail and left them a message with the following info and suggested a Professional Medco Rep visit this site to clarify and hopefully get this caller to either quit calling or leave a message if you do not feel comfortable as I did answering a call I did not recognize and did not have an ID as to who was calling. Heads up Folks!
'Rx Manager' = spinDOCtorMEDCO calls from a TOLL FREE # not one showing an area code other than 800 - or 877, 888 etc. so stop mis-directing everyone here. and to the person saying they CAN leave a message, YES they can, and have asked us to authorize them to leave a message, so if this "person" isn't leaving one, and MEDCO knows THEY can, most likely it's NOT MEDCO calling.grow up people... there's a war on.... don't be a moron ... don't give personal info to someone that isn't verifying who they are, if you haven't any reason to have a call from them.... especially if THEY don't leave a simple message, after having you "sign" an authorization that they can, in the future.I wouldn't be surprised if THIS 'Rx Manager' is working for this "foney" caller.

My parents received a call today from Medco. He ask my mom for her date of birth, and she told him that she was not giving him that info. My parents do use medco, and told the man that medco had all their info, and there was no reason to be calling them. She told them that if they needed any more info, then they could mail it to them, and then they would make the decision on what to do then.
I just ordered several prescriptions via MEDCO. My health insurance company forced me to do this. They will no longer pay for certain medications from retail pharmacies. This week I received several of these automated calls regarding my order. They had my wife's name correct, but didn't mention which medication they were calling about. I didn't talk to them. I only listened to the message. At this point, I don't know if this is a legitimate call from MEDICO or a scam. The message sounded legitimate, but we'll see what happens when I call them back.
When you fill/refill an Rx with them, an automated call will come in w/out any personal info just saying that your order has shipped - they will address you by name.I just received a call on my FAX LINE from Medco from the 201 number and the guy was beligerant and a total dumba** as far as I'm concerned. I asked how he got my number and he said that I had it listed with my insurance company -- NO I DO NOT .... only my cell phone is listed with them. I refused to give my husband's cell number (the liar is not wasting my cell minutes). He refused to give me any information and I said fine, give me your number and I would have my husband call him back. He said it was a courtesy call .... what????It is most definitely some sort of telemarketing call and I can only guess that Medco is selling some information for someone to at least know who their customers are which is crap.
They called asking by my last name. He said he was from Maytag and were clearing up there records saying I was elgible for a free repair or rebate for my recalled dishwasher. I said "and you are calling from Maytag" he said "yes". I told him that that is pretty embarrashing for Maytag if they can't keep accurate records and know that I already received a rebate.
