Number came across as Amazon Customer Service on my Samsung S8 caller ID so I answered it because I did make a purchase that day. It was a guy with a very thick Indian accent calling to confirm a purchase that I did not make. It was very hard to understand him but he knew my name and that I had an Amazon credit card. I didn't give him any info but as soon as I said I did not make the purchase he hung up. I then checked all my cards linked with Amazon. Luckily nothing was charged. I then tried to get onto my Amazon account and my password had been changed. I tried resetting it but it wouldn't send the temp pass code to my email so that's how I knew something was up. I called Amazon and they told me the name on my account had been changed that day so the immediately froze my Amazon account. Over night I got a notification that a charge was declined on one of my cards because I froze the account. Changed all my credit card numbers. It's most defiantly hackers trying to use your Amazon to gain credit card info.If you can't reset your Amazon password then that's a sign your account has been hacked. Be careful.
Claimed to be amazon. Tried to phish my personal info. I gave them phony info. They then called amazon impersonating me but failed the security checks. Amazon notified me of this when I contacted them via chat shortly after and we compared time stamps/logs to confirm it wasn't me who made the call to amazon's legitimate number.
This number +1(206)508-4014 is a scam/phishing number who claims to an "Amazon Representative Rep." Ive talked to actual amazon customer service and they never call you for orders or anything related to your order unless you call them. These people will be calling usually with phone ID from Seattle, WA and they WILL have your address, last 4 numbers on your card, day you purchased the item, and they will ask for the amount. THIS IS NOT AMAZON. THEY WILL NOT CALL YOU THEMSELVES!
Not sure if it's legit or not, but someone hacked into my Amazon account to order an X-box. I think they were calling to confirm and when I didn't answer Amazon cancelled the order. Or it could be the scammer trying to get my info. Either way if you get a call from this number, something is up.
Sent the call to voicemail. They left a voice message, it sounded like an Indian woman who stated she was an Amazon representative who needed to "contact me about a recent order" and to call her back as soon as possible.
I called Amazon for the same reason and the representative originally told me the same thing. Then she put me on a 10 minute hold and after talking to her supervisor told me that the other departments did in fact make these kinds of calls to verify transactions.
