The number listed above on this blog is not Amazon or any Credit Card company. Do not respond to the caller.
LOL, that post was probably made by the same guy running the scam! He must think we're really dumb.
Read through these posts, people! "Amazon user" and "Amazon Buyer" sure sound like they really want you to answer the call. Hmmm, I wonder why that is? Oh wait, it's probably because they're the same ones running the scam. Don't be fooled by these a$$holes!
Got a call from this number found this page, was initially worried contacted Amazon CS they told me only calls from +353 are used by amazon.co.uk are then but told me it may be a maerket place seller based in U.S.A. I was contacted again from this number and he confirmed that he could see i had spoken to Amazon CS regarding the number he was calling from and simply wanted to make sure it was me who made the purchase, and the address it was going to was correct this was simply due to the value of the order he informed me that he would allow the order to be processed, unfortunately because i did not answer the first one my order was delayed by the Market place seller minutes before the phone call.
I got a call from this number +1 206 508 4014. Lady with thick accent explained that she was calling from Amazon and someone tried to purchase an item with my card on their own amazon account. Amazon phoned me because the card is linked to my account. She only asked wether I purchased the item, no more. It was not a phishing call. She cancelled the amazon order and suggested I cancel the card and contact my bank.I phoned my bank and sure as heck, there were a few unauthorised transactions on the card today. The card was immediately cancelled.I can't believe the scammers are using this number, as it is only as a result of this call that I was made aware of the fraudulent activity. Had they not called then the fraudulent amazon purchase & others would likely have gone through.
It is NOT a scam. I didn't answer the call, but returned it. Sure enough, someone stole my credit card number, had made a bogus $1.00 test charge on Amazon, and was already starting to make purchases elsewhere. My credit card company reversed the charges and cancelled the cards. This isn't the first time this has happened to my family. If you get a call like this, you don't have to answer or give them any information, but CHECK YOUR CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS FOR WEIRD $1.00 CHARGES! They are test charges that indicate someone has stolen your card number. If the charges go through or you ignore it, the thieves have a green light to use your card number.
