Received a call today like everyone else from woman who "sounded" of middle eastern decent. Asked me to verify a Amazon purchase of $300+. Explained it was NOT me and inquired how she got my phone number I can't remember her answer but I also asked her what cc since I have a few and sure enough it was a match for one of my cards.. Called and went online and did not see any purchasers or authorizations but did cancel my card as a safety precaution.
Four of these calls within 4 minutes. Seems to be legit (BUT do not trust me and my statements, they only represent my personal experiences) - Caller identified themselves as Amazon (but in the most shady [***] way possible) - I gave them literally nothing, but they were able to give me all the details of an order I had just made. They asked me for nothing, only to verify that I had in fact made the order...
I got the call from this number right after my credit got fraud and being stolen and purchase bunch of things. I am very suspect that they have something to do with my credit card stolen but I have no approved. They called probably they could not get the money and they hung up right after I told them I called my credit card company. I got text message alert from my credit card company so I called right away to stop the credit card charge. I double they are Amazon. I think someone has to investigate this phone number or this company.
I just received a call from a lady with a heavy accent wanting to verify my recent order for a Google Play gift card. I had just placed the order, so I cautiously said yes. She asked if I was [name], and I said yes, and then she asked if I had just purchased a Google Play gift card for $xx. I said I did. I wasn't sure, but I wasn't giving out any personal information. She said thank you and that was it. But I was confused and a little concerned after reading the ratings here. So I called Amazon, and the guy I spoke with said he was going to check some things, and then he came back and said that wasn't something Amazon does, but Google might have their own process. He said it was probably legit, as long as they weren't asking for personal information.
Amazon call, hah! Told me they were Amazon and wanted to verify an $800 purchase for Upholstery. Hung up, went to Amazon...no such transaction.
Amazon calling about my credit card being used to purchase two large purchases which I did not authorize or do
Left a 14 second message from "Amazon.com Notification Team" requesting a confirmation/authorization of an order. This is a scam. Amazon does not call. They send emails. If you call the number back, it redirects you to the real Amazon customer service. That is why this looks legit.
