do not call back is 100% scam. It said someone may be trying to open an account in sears with my name. I called sears and it is a lie. [9:58:18 PM] *** 12106771346 *** no one will also call that late about a card
same thing with me. best buy application wanted last 4 social and b date. I believe that this is a scam. I have received another scam call from target so I think they're working together
It sounds like someone has your personal information and is trying to open credit in your name. You need to contact the three credit bureaus and place a password on your SSN to prevent any new credit without that password. Also, obtain the free credit report you are entitled to and make sure there are no lines of credit that you do not recognize.
I just received a call from this number on a line that used to be our landline but is now a mobile number used for junk calls. I immediately searched to see where it was from. I saw the different spam comments, then saw that it was Citi and someone said for them, it was their Best Buy card. I also have a Best Buy card that I share with my son, who is a Best Buy employee in a different state. Seeing that, I immediately called my son and asked if he'd contacted Citi, to which he very animatedly responded that he had and that he went off on the foreign accented person who was lucky enough to answer his call. Apparently they have issues with the fact that the card is being used in multiple places and have put a fraud alert on the account. Without going into all the nonsense that ensued (and was supposedly resolved), suffice it to say that this IS a legitimate number, not a scam.
I got a missed call and voicemail from this number while I was at work. I listened to the message and it told me to call the number on the back of my card, I have not used this card in 4 years, and sure enough they had fraudulent charges to report to me. In my case this was a legit call. I never answer a number I don't know and if they leave a message I can then go from there.
Caller said they were from Sears. Said someone was opening an account in my name and was making a large purchase. The lady asked for personal information but I said I didn't have time. She gave me this # to call bacl. 1-800-669-8465.
"Hi, this is Natasha calling with Citibank this message is for Roy. This call is in regards to your Costco anywhere visa credit card, please call back at 855 800 5486 and any agent can assist you until 11 p.m.. Eastern standard time. Thanks."My name isn't Roy. I don't have any credit cards. Zero. I don't even have a Costco Membership. While the number looks legit, they aren't calling from that number. No bank will expect you to give personal information over the phone so if you do have a card, hang up and call back using the number on the back of your card. PHISHING SCAM!
