Well NewYorker, you have engaged an very unprofessional company. Today they called, hungup, called right back, hungup, then called right back this time leaving a message. Three calls in two minutes. Two minutes later they did the same thing to a co-worker who forwarded all three to me. A professional company would not do such a thing. You really should find a more reptutable company for your back ground screening....unless you are really from this company??????????
This company calls constantly on my home phone. We never give this number out as we all have cell phones. My friends do not even know of this "emergency" land line number but it is listed. Therefore no one could be calling my house for employment verification. If someone wanted to get a hold of me for that, it would be through my cell number, provided by a friend.
Had a job with a company i worked for again. And tbey changed there background to sterling . sterling denied me and said i had a conviction and i did not ! The charge was dismiss. Its crazy because 201w i worked for capital one with the smae charge. I left to have my baby came back got hired and waited for background check thinking everything will e fine like last time and sterling cost me the job
they reported a felony conviction in GA 1999, i have no felony convictions and verified with the GBI which of cource did not show any arrest, warents or convictions
"Sterling Testing Systems" is the company name that appears when this number is researched. The varying posts here are interesting; the firm received a lengthy, negative review on Yelp. My latest encounter was a woman who wanted to follow up her written request for verification of employment, which was faxed only last Wednesday, November 25. I explained that all VOEs require a 48-hour turnaround period, especially 1) on a Monday; 2) right after a holiday; and 3) since the above date was an early dismissal day for most. What does she expect, a miracle?
don't believe I ever saw this number until the a charge came thru to my credit card/ I also got another scam charge from company saying they are a testing company and calls charged to my credit card were $45.34 and $49.75..Have no idea how they got my credit card number.
The company I applied with uses this company "Sterling" as an employment verification service. They have now out sourced to an India based firm. A woman there has called me twice wanting info on previous employment that is approx 10 years old. I told them that they were out of business. After speaking to 3 more people about this there including a "supervisor" He insisted that I send either a W-2 or my tax return to their email addy. I informed him that I did not keep records that far back and he still insisted. I ended the call and promptly called the HR dept of where I applied and informed them of this extreme tactic. Not sure what they did but I got the job anyway. Sorry Sterling or whom ever you are, I don't trust anyone with that type of info.
it would appear your employee is looking for another job. as I received a call for a reference for a past employee.
I was in the Air Force fro 26 years and they could not make the connection that they had to verify my employment one place, and speak to my references in another. They didn't even know what the Air Force is and kept referring to it as my company. Not every job should be outsourced. Major language barrier. Frustrated with the whole process.
