Just received a call from LRS Litigation, the person that answered the call said it sounded like a recorded message and I had to call back when I tried all I got was a message saying their mail box was full and to call back.
I recieved a call from the number 216-644-1249. I was threatened with a lawsuit and the whole nine yards. They seem to try different phone number to see if you will pick up. The trick will not work.
I received the same call at work. It was a recording. It would have been embarrassing if someone else answered the phone.
I started getting this call yesterday from the # 216-644-1249, was left same message in regards to being a respondent in a case, saying something about a restraining order. They called my work this morning with the same message. The #330-205-7460 was also left as a contact number. Both numbers say voicemail is full. I want these people to stop calling my phone and my work phone.
Got a call yesterday from 330-205-7460 on my cell with same basic message but stating I had 4 hours to call. Got one on my office phone today from 216-644-1249. It is my understanding that a debt collector is required to state they are attempting to collect a debt, give their name, and they are not allowed to share information with anyone other than the debtor. These people will not be receiving a phone call back from me.
Just got the same call at work. With all the same information you all have said. I decided to look it up and came across this website that I am on now. Glad to know I am not the only one. Didn't have a clue what they were talking about!
This is a scam, they have been contacting me using several numbers over the past few years. I receive calls, voice mails, emails. They threaten all kinds of legal action. Please research the fair debt act as this will let you know your rights. No company can press legal charges against you for a debt. Debt is not a criminal act. You can not be arrested, or bogus restraining order placed on you. All they can do if it is a legitimate debt is try to file a claim at your county court house to demand payment. If you ever receive a call from a debt collector your first responce should alway be to request proof of debt. By law they have to provide this upon request before any further action is taken. Most of these scam places cannot provide that and will get upset and angry. Tell them you will no longer communicate with them in any way until written proof of debt is sent. Give them no personal information.if they conitue to call continue to ask for proof of debt, after a period of time, and no proof sent, tell them exactly where they can go.
About a year ago I got into a fight with some Indian scammer dealing with same issue claiming I owed on a payday loan (which I obviously never took out and knew it was a scam).. the best part was I called him every name in the book and made fun of him after about the 3rd call or so. After that he called 2 more times all angry and calling me names on my voicemail! I laughed the whole time that I had upset him so much that he was irate!! Loved it! IT'S A SCAM
Call them and give them a piece of your mind and school them on debt collection laws, they hung up on me. HAHAHAHA!
PLEASE, AS SOON AS THESE PEOPLE CALL YOU, PLEASE REPORT THIS NUMBER TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION!!! UNITED DEBT HOLDINGS AND CREDIT CONTROL ARE USING THESE ONES ALSO. DO NOT ARGUE WITH THIM. THEY ARE A SCAM. DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED FOLKS!!!! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.
