just received a call saying it was Microsoft Windows and wanted me to turn on my computer and they would fix the virus.

So far today I received 4 phone calls from this number. All 4 times when I answered, they hung up.When I googled the 222 number I found this forum.I will put my phone number on the Do not call List. Thanks for posting. Otherwise I would not know about this scam.

I just answer the phone like this when I see caller ID - "Good Morning, District Attorney's Office, how may I help you" - they hang up fast.

I have received four phone calls from this number today but no one responds when I answer.

We get calls from this number as well in Ontario Canada. Same thing happens... we answer the phone... no one responds *(dead air)* then they hang up. Since we have our phone through our cable company, we go to our providers website and add this number to our blocked callers list. Now if this number calls again, our service provider gives them an automated message saying "this number (our phone number) is no longer available".... This service might be available to others on this forum as an alternative to dealing with these vagrants who make these calls. May be beneficial to look into it.

I keep getting these calls evey hour & I won't answer them b/c I KNOW it's not a legit number but it IS annoying!!

F'n idiots have the audacity to call on Thanksgiving! Next call from this number (if there is one) will answer by saying: "Precinct 5, Phoenix, PD. Do you have an emergency?" Almost lookin' forward to another call....

Just got one of these calls but did not answer it. What surprises me is I have a special ringtone (the old navy klaxon sound) for two people who I never want to speak with, and my Android phone used that ringtone with the call from 222-555-7777. Geeez, smart phone indeed.

FIVE friggin' calls from 222-555-7777 this afternoon...Thanksgiving Day! How can the callers be stopped? The DONOTCALLREGISTRY is another wasteful government project so forget that plan. Need to stop the calls NOW so post your tried and true ideas asap. Thanks.

Today is 5.26.2012 and 5 minutes ago I just received the same call from the same stupid foreign indian sounding mofo. I knew from the get go that this was a scam because EVERY CALL YOU EVER GET THAT SAYS SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAS GONE WRONG WITH YOUR COMPUTER THAT IS NOT A SELF-INITIATED CALL IS A BOGUS ONE. I absolutely love the fact how you messed around with this a-hole. I simply remained calm for the first two minutes and then started yelling and cursing at him and he just kept asking, "Why are you being so rude?" The Courts of the US and of the States, as a general rule, will find a foreign national subject to US law when their criminal activities substantially effect someone or something within the national border.
