I got a call this afternoon from the same number. The guy could barely speak English and I had to ask him to repeat himself numerous times. He asked to speak to Mrs.XXXX (my former married name), I played along. He identified himself as being with *Windows* --lol. Same old lines as with the others, my computer had bad files and would shut down, blah blah blah. I strung him a long for quite a bit just because I was bored anyway. He then wanted me to go to my computer and he would instruct me what to type on the keyboard. I asked him why--because my computer is an Apple. He hung up on me. By the way, my computer is not an Apple--but I have heard of this phishing scam before his call to me.
Same kind of thing-heavy Indian accent, claimed to be from Microsoft, knew my name, told me my computer was sending signals that there was damage being done to my software without my knowledge, wanted me to log into my computer for him to walk me through fixing it. Knew it was fake so I just told him I couldn't access that computer right now and he said "Oh, OK." and hung up. Totally bogus! Hope he doesn't keep calling.
Got a call from this number last night. Same as all the others - foreign accent and could barely speak English, Mentioned Microsoft windows computer. I told him I don't give out any info on the phone and hung up. At about eleven o'clock this AM I got another call and told him the same thing and hung up. I figured it was a scam so looked it up on my computer which led me here. Going to send an email to all my email friends to warn them since I know for sure it's a scam.
Indian accented man (with Indian accented people in background doing the same thing) told me there was a problem with my computer and I should log on so "we can look into it."I told him no, asked for his name and phone number so I could call him back. . . then he hung up on me.Someone really needs to stop this.I wouldn't call this a prank call - but rather someone who wants to get info. Elderly might be fooled by this - so do something please.
I just got a call from this guy! I told him I didn't have a computer only a smart phone and he started saying "I love you be my friend" Crazy crazy world we live in!
Caller with an Indian accent called saying he wanted to speak to person authorized to use a computer in my household. I told him that I don't have a computer, and that I am on the do not call list, how dare you bother me, and if he called back he would be reported to the FCC, and than hung-up.
I just received a call from this number and when I said "hello" 3 times they hung up without saying a word.Hopefully they will not call back!!Caller ID came up as Name not found
got a call earlier this morning from someone sounding Indian or southeast Asian. I could not understand most of what he said except for the words "error messages" and "corrupted files". I hung up.
