Received a message when I got home to call 866-500-6260 because our online banking had been frozen due to possible fraud. We NEVER use online banking on that account. I called BOA using the number on my card 800-432-1000 and spoke to an associate. He informed me that my account wasn't frozen and that they had received alot of calls lately...just like mine. The number on my caller ID was 302-458-0973
I can give you your last 4 digits just by you leaving your receipt at the gas pump...anyone can get this information...THIS IS NOT REAL...THIS IS A SCAM. Go to the FBI and/or FCC websites and you will find this number is already being investigated. Please read my above entry. NO COMPANY THAT CALLS YOU WILL ASK FOR YOUR INFORMATION...NO INFORMATION AT ALL...PERIOD. Research this statement. You will find that this is the same statement found at ALL fraud reporting sites because it is true.
It is Bank of America. Legit call. If you have any type of business with them you should take this call. I've been with them as a customer for over fifteen years. This collection/card group is quite helpful and NO I don't work for them.
Person who called kept looking for Harvey Williams. I already told them to take my number off their list and that they have the wrong number. They constantly call my number.
Got a call from this number on 9/8/11. Woman stated she was our BOA "account representative”. Wanted me to make a payment on our credit line which she stated was past due. She also wanted a payment on my husband’s credit card. Neither account payment was actually due for 2 more weeks. She knew enough about our accounts to be credible, but something about her attitude set off red flags. She even threatened that we could be foreclosed on if we didn’t make a payment. At one point, she put me on hold to “check something” even though she had earlier indicated she had all our account information in front of her. At that point I hung up. Next morning my husband called BOA and spoke to several divisions (mortgage, credit cards, and equity/lines of credit). Each of these divisions stated categorically that no one from BOA had called us and there was nothing in their account systems to indicate there was any reason for us to be contacted. No one in any of these divisions could confirm that the phone number is actually a BOA number. They all said we should report the call to BOA fraud department. Don’t give anyone who calls you from this number any information. They appear to be phishing!
Don't completely disregard the call...while it seemed suspicious,it was valid!!! Just be sure to call the number on your card to be safe!!!!My story:I had made a couple of big purchases yesterday with my BOA card, so when I got a call to both my house and my cell regarding verification/possible fraud it wasn't totally out of left field. However, instead of calling the number on the caller ID, or the number the caller, "Card Services," requested I call, which was 800-427-2449, I called the BOA number on the back of my card. This was after I also went into my email this morning and saw a fraud alert email from BOA (which could also be fraudulent, so be sure to just call the number on the back of your card, regardless). When I logged into my account online, there was in fact a fraud alert (although it wasn't obvious from the account overview page, and I had to do some digging to find it - shouldn't this be in blaring red letters on your BOA homepage?) I called the number on the back of the card and verified the purchases were valid and mine. I just want y'all to know this so you will at least look into it versus just completely disregarding the call. Just be sure to address it thru the safest channels.
Got a phone call from this number Jan 15. Sounded phishy, so checked my on line account and no alerts were noted there. The 800 call back they gave was 800-824-5895. Did not call the 800 number and suggest any others who receive such a call should call either BOA or the 800 number on the back of your credit card.
A female from THE NUMBER 302-458-1590 called and left a message on my recorder asking Monica V. to, "please give a QUICK CALL BACK to 1-800-606-3376 C.A.R.D Services". Female caller left no name or name of business to call back - just says "call ME" back at 1 800 606-3376. Not only did they have the wrong number, but they had the wrong name too!!! The call was for Monica V. AT Mary V's house!! I happen to know Monica V. and she's a Denver Police Officer!!! I called back the 302 number and it rang & rang & then went into a busy signal. I called the 800 # and they wanted me to punch in my card # - so I punched in 0000 0000 0000 0000. They said, "your card didn't come in all the way, would you please repeat it?" I said, "I have no card and I am reading about you being fraud!" She said, "no we bought out NBA and Merill Lynch". I hung up. They're trying to get people's card numbers for identity theft. So the FBI needs to be on it if they arent' already. As I hung up the phone rang again, the call was from a detective and asked me to come talk with them tomorrow at the local PD about 3 credit cards I had reported stolen in August! Coincidence? yes. But I'd advise EVERYONE that this is bogus, FAKE, FRAUD on the 302 and the 800#'s for sure.
