I got a phone call from 302-458-1590 around 7:30 AM to verify that I issue a check to my account for 6,000.00. I called the number that appears in my card statement to verify that this number was legit, and that in fact somebody called me from the fraud departmen. This number is legitimate number. They really call when there is a strange charge in the credit card.
This is a valid Bank of America fraud dept. number. Call the number on the back of your card, ask them to transfer you to security, and give them the number. They will tell you it is a valid fraud dept. number.
this is a scam! bank of america will send correspondence in mail. I like how the fake posts have come up. beware of this phone number people, do not answer or give any information.
This is Bank of America. They are calling either because someone is using your card fraudulently or you haven't paid your bills!
I do not have a BofA account and this number calls me at least once a month. They state that there is fraud on my account. I have NEVER had an account with BofA, in my life!Something tells me this is a scam.
I get constant calls from this phone number, I never answer, I let the machine pick up. I think I've gotten the calls three times a day for at least 2 months now. Only once did they leave a threatening message that if I did not call them by midnight eastern time, they would "cancel my account". I don't even have an account that they could cancel! This is truly fraud, I can't believe our goverment has apparently let them get away with this for as long as the dates go back on this post.
This is a legit call, fraud dept due to unusual activities regarding account. To be safe, call the number on the back of your card.
Yes, they left message, I called my card's number and they confirmed that they had called. Sure enough there was a charge (confirmed online) for a hotel 2000 miles away on my card. Card cancelled. {sigh}
It is legit. It seems a bite sketchy because the number that shows up on your phone is not one that you can reach somebody. But when I called the number that was on the back of my card and spoke with a represenative from Bank of America she did verify that they do make calls to verify recent activity on my card (I didn't bother calling 1-800-441-7048 because I figured if it was a scam I would just be giving them more information about me and my account!) She also verified information that was logged on my account that I had confirmed and the name of the man that I spoke with who had made the notation. She told me that she understood why people would feel uncomfortable with such a call and if at any time you are not comfortable that you can hang up and call the number on your card and pursue the issue from there and they would be happy to help.
