"tom" and "another" i'm glad you guys agree. they have to get rid of the hacks because they're a lot of us who do good work, and the rogues are blowing it for us all. i can kind of see why they aren't paying with some of the crap i see these other guys doing. i hope they get it straight, so we can all get back to work.
I am a cabinet installer and I had no problem getting payed. And I have had to go fix some of the hacks jobs out there.I think that is what put thim in behind the eight ball.I have seen some very bad work.I you do a hack job you sould not get payed!!! I think things will turn around. We allthat does great not good work needs the work!!!
We are in the same boat. Just found out that the company has closed its doors and our credit card was charged $20K. No cabinets were ordered yet and nothing else was done. Any suggestions on what options we have? I did check out the company on BBB and saw an A+ rating, but now the rating is gone! I felt so scammed!
Is this the same 'kitchen carolina' that operates in the Raleigh Area? They sent out a pretty brochure with great kitchens and great prices. We were interested so a salesperson came out and helped us plan our kitchen. Alarm bells went off in my head when they wanted us to finance through GE credit. We told them we'd get our own financing. However, less than a month later we get a $5000 bill from GE credit for work that hasn't been done, when we told them specifically we had no interest in borrowing money from GE. Please let me know if this Kitchen Carolina is the same that's ripping you all off.
Yes this is the same company that everyone is talking about. I am a cabinet installer and did work for this company and they scammed me for $6500. I have done cabinet work for 15yrs and have never had one unsatisfied customer. I live in the Raleigh area also and I am doing Kitchen Remodeling and can get Armstrong Cabinets along with other cabinet's from other company's, so if you can trust someone else, I can take a look at your Kitchen. I have plenty of references, I can be reached at Jkitto@nc.rr.com
Its sad because us good installers are owed alot of money and are smart enough to not get any deeper in the hole with a company with no answers. They are using anybody that will work - no matter how bad there work is. Sorry home owners
I have noticed that the "territory manager", Brandi Marsh, her listed email is now a dead contact. She doesn't answer her phone. GE Money claims they will send us a form to dispute this money charged to us, money we never authorized, nothing was ever delivered. Anyone have any idea if we will be on the hook for this? These idiots even spelled my FIRST AND LAST NAME WRONG on the credit application.
we have been fixing KC messes for a few weeks now. Unfortunately many factors are at play here and many people shooting each other down. KC got too many customers and not enough "Quality insured, bonded, licensed" or professional sub's. I am only one company and every home I've gone into with full confidence of working for and with the homeowners over and above what KC standards are, and yes they own us alot of money but I have hopes that they will pay and I am finishing one customer at a time. Their concept of improving kitchens is a great one and increases the value of a home but you got to have the right people incharge and the right people making the end result happen.(ridinwaves91@yahoo.com) I've never been affraid to talk to or help a homeowner out in anyway.
I refer everyone to the Graham City Police Report that luckily Stated installers were not paid and the company shut it's doors due to financial problems on 12/2/09. Wonder how this effects all contracts(ask your attorney). For more information - go to the complaint board. This official report does not say only contractors who did poor work were not paid-it clearly states otherwise. In this police report Kitchen Carolina's General Managers outline what occured, leaving only 1 conclusion - You are lying. NO one with any sense would believe this rhetoric! Additionally, the laughable Final Lien Release form states that KC will pay subs when you get funds obviously that means you did not have funds to pay subs, can it mean anything else? Also, emails and other information absolutely prove this. My personal question is - where did the job revenue go for the job expenses? Perhaps, some former employees can answer this?????
Thanks Inside for your in side description of what we have already experienced. I agree, the Selfors are trying to keep part of or all of the sub hold back money with this satisfaction clause (and other things) that clearly was read as being tied to your portion of work (common sense). This contract satisfaction requirement Rob is trying to redefine as applying to the entire project is part of a Kitchen "Subcontractor" Agreement as PRINTED AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE (dah)Overreaching! Subs can't be held to General Contractor requirements (laugh). If there are 2 ways to take something (a huge stretch) it must be taken in context of the type of agreement and the industry standard. The legal definition of a sub is someone who is responsible for a "portion" of a Project (they are not a GC) therefore, Rob claiming subs are to be held responsible for an "entire" project net loss due to no fault of their own is a HUGE NEON SIGN that speaks volumes of these people. Those subs that served formal notice of liens have been paid, those who went small claims and won Selfors appealed so choose wisely. Tell your customers and if they have paid in full have them call the State Attorney now & make them aware & the finance company.
