This message is for "feeling lucky". When you say you are out of your contract and you received your money back, did you mean you had no out of pocket expenses at this point? Did you have to pay KC for those cabinets and if so how did they figure the cost? thanks

Who is the granite fabricator? I need to get the counters I was promised at a resonanble rate. If you don't want to post the name on here please email me. benjamin_whysall@yahoo.com
I used to install for this company. What a joke. Can't get any answers, and still owe me 2200.00. I have filed a claim with the attorney general and will do likewise with the courthouse in Grahm. Could have been a good business But run by an idiot.
After hounding Kitchen Carolina (KC) one of the District Managers or VP of Quality (The titles for people kept changing, which I found odd) sent me an email stating that due to their current economic situation they would not be able to complete our kitchen installation. (Again, odd as we financed our job 100%) So, they offered to refund what we paid minus the cabinets which had already been ordered and were sitting in Charlotte waiting for delivery. As for the cost of the cabinets, I had been in contact with Armstrong and they provided me a what the price of our cabinets would most likely be. After receiving the email from KC with my price after refund, I countered as I thought they quoted me an incorrect price. I was able to do this as no where in our documentation did KC put in the price we would be paying for the cabinets. So after some back and forth, they refunded an additional amount as the price they quoted was higher than what Armstrong quoted me. Again, they don't seem to even understand their own business. I was also able to get an additional refund as they messed up our hardware order, as I was told the changes we requested were taken care of by our Project Manager (at the time, it was our second PM). They were not and no one at KC seemed to know that once the hardware order was filled, it could not be changed. Again, this was told to me by a contact at Armstrong, not KC. In the end we only paid for our cabinets, no other costs involved other then much of my time and aggravation. Overall it was a bad experience. I never once felt that anyone at KC cared about our project or even seemed to know anything about what was going on with it.
Just wanted to post that I went to Arbitration last week and won my case in the amount of $5000. If this company/Rob Selfors owes you any money take action now. Lets put him where he belongs. It pains me to see him take advantage of everyone. He needs to be stopped. Brian!
I recieved a letter on 1/15/10 staing that GE Money Bankwould credit my disputed charge.
Filing a claim lien against the homeowner does work. I don't know where you got your information from. It doesn't seem fair because the homeowner does not contract with subs, but until the contract is paid by the General contractor, the homeowner is still in possession of unpaid property. It still belongs to the subs until it is paid for. Subs can file liens to protect the property that isn't paid for. I work for a counter top contractor and we do it all the time to protect our interest. Again, it doesn't really seem fair but the lien can be filed against whomever is is possession of the property. You have to SUE the GC for any financial compensation though.
