Well after almost a month of back and forth with Kitchen Carolina (KC), we are out of our contract and got our money back. We now have a garage full of cabinets and looking for installers to do the job.I am certain it would not have happened if not for my persistence. I emailed and called anyone I could get contact information for. I called and questioned Armstrong, got them in the conversation. There was absolutely no one from KC who took the initiative to contact me and try to resolve the issue. After losing 2 PMs, the one District Manager I was working with suddenly dropped off and never contacted me again. Only when I started contacting other people at KC did someone pick up the ball and start working with me. Then they finally told me they could not meet the terms of our contract and offered us a refund. If anyone wants to get out of their contract and has used GE money to finance, file a dispute with GE. We did that and it helped to resolve the issue, but you will have to stay on top of KC and GE money and insist on getting your money back. If I hadn't done that I am certain it would have taken much longer. I used email as much as possible to keep multiple people in the conversation and also have a record of communication. Besides, most calls went straight to voice mail anyway. If KC is trying to stay in business, they are doing a very poor job of showing it. There were lots of things we were told, but not much follow-up. They have very poor customer interaction and no one staying on top of things. I was even told we would be contacted by a PM who would put us in touch with installers in our area to finish the job. Big surprise, we received no call or email. They also don’t seem to communicate internally and don’t know their own business. We ended up getting another credit for hardware. After initially mentioning in email to KC that our hardware order was wrong (We had changed it and got confirmation from our PM a month earlier), we were told by an Armstrong rep that the hardware could not be changed. After weeks of exchanges including at least a half-dozen people from KC, no one thought to mention that. Amazing.Best of luck to anyone still having to deal with KC.
Tom tile master I agree with u . I am glad u make it to the bank . I am going to make a stand Monday with starting to call customers and leining house , visiting the court house and getting my money . I worked very hard for this company and do us like this. Not how i would treat my people , but he leaves us no choice - no answers
While the report of poor installers is true, please do not dismiss the fact that there were many long standing, small companies left with limited choices in this economy who became victims of this predatory company. We exhibited the highest degree of professionalism, did top-notch work, received outstanding customer reviews, and then we left due to poor business ethics and non-payment. I agree the KC screening process is grossly ineffective because I witnessed shabby work of others, but the sad thing is that top professionals were treated equally as bad. This company's net was too wide and they pulled in all sorts of people and at the same time ran off the good. Hopefully, KC will be left with the caliber of individuals they deserve. Most importantly, we hope the State of NC will dissolve this company so we don’t have to watch a squeal.
Unless you want to be without a functioning kitchen or about 8 weeks, you were lucky you're credit was turned down.
Roger How u feeling now - your backside a little sore - if not it will be soon. I am sick of the lies and no answers - i will get my money -time is up
For anyone out there who got out of their contract, but ended up with cabinets. We have found an installer who has experience with Kitchen Carolina and has indicated they are known for having incorrect measurements on the 20x20 and forgetting things like trim and finishing pieces when ordering the cabinets.
In order to get more notice you need to specify what, who to whom ,where and when the scam. What you have is not specific enough for any claim.
KC totally measured my kitchen wrong. It was a nightmare from the beginning. Rob Selfors is a crook and has some serious mental health issues. my 6 day kitchen remodel dragged on for 14 weeks. I was stupid enough to pay 1/2 of the remodel costs upfront. I luckily did not pay the second half until the kitchen was "done." I finally just gave up and settled for what I could just to get Rob and KC OUT of my life!
