We also disputed our transaction to get our money back as Kitchen Carolina was not paying for our materials, even though we had financed the entire project.You have to hound both KC and GE, email and call every day. Eventually they must get sick of it and credit your account. It worked for me.Good luck.

Again, the subcontractor has EVERY right to file a lien against your home. Although you did not originally contract with them, you are in possession of their property if KC has not paid them. Technically, a portion of your home belongs to the subcontractor. The lien protects their property and keeps you from selling what belongs to them. You cannot be sued for the balance of the contract, this is owed by KC and not you (the homeowner). However, a subcontractor does have the right to make a claim on unpaid property or services that added to the value of your home.This doesn't seem very fair, and it is usually the homeowner that pays the subcontractor to have the lien removed and then sues the general contractor. (In this case K.C.) It is unfortunate, but subcontractors must protect their property. You selling your home with unpaid property inside would be like selling a car that doesn't belong to you. Sorry, but that is the law concerning mechanics and contractors liens.

I talked to some of the customers that I Installed for, and they said they are still receiving current Emails from Rob and Adam saying they are not out of business but are just trying to finish existing jobs, which is funny because everything for kitchen carolina is shut down, including there web sight, and one of the homeowners said they were trying to get them to pay final payment with credit card and they will discount amount owed if they pay immediatly, which lucky for them they didnt. It seems he is trying to collect as much as he can before it all comes down.
