This message was from a credit card company with a pre-recorded message as it was almost through the message. If you wish to no longer receive calls to lower your interest rate press three now ... on another note when I did answer a call once upon a time ... I asked if this concerned my credit cards in my name. No ... do I have a problem with my credit cards I asked and was told quite abruptly did I need help or not? Uh ... no I do not ... but I will try and make you pay for this call that you annoyed me with : )

65% of the calls I get are [***] telemarkers. The bogus do not call list is just that, BOGUS. I have been getting calls from the same companies for years. This number was card holder services. [***] scam artists.

Then join the fight against scammers. There are a few posters who cruise 800notes and try to expose scams, preferably before many are scammed, and help victims with advice and where to go to for help. The pay is lousy but surf 800notes and you'll soon know who these folks are.

I have just received my umpteenth call from these telemarketers and decided to do something today. Their scam can ultimately hurt seniors in Canada by taking unfair advantage of them through fear mongering. I have called the Do not call registry to report them and letting them know the calls are from the USA they still wanted it; the number to call them and please please call them 1-866-580-3625. Also call the CRTC at 1-877-249-2782 and lodge a complaint and ask if they will use Media to circulate this scam and keep everyone informed. I believe it has to do with credit card protection. Why would an American company be interested in Canadian Credit. Please I urge everyone to do what they can to stop this scam.

they left a message they are a home loan modification company. Those things never work.

It is a US based company. call 1 866 580 3625 and then the CRTC AT 1 877 249 2782 to complain and get them to stop US telemarketing scamer from infiltrating our country.

Please register the complaint with 1 866 580 3625 even though it is a US telemarketer then call 1 877 249 2782 this is the CRTC and lodge a complaint to STOP US TELEMARKETERS FROM PREYING ON OUR SENIORS. They are calling all over Canada and taking advantage of unsuspecting people.

i have reported this same company on the National Do not Call list 8 times. it should be called the national do not bother calling us list , cause they do absolutly nothing

I got this message today as well. It too was cut off, as it didn't wait for my VM intro. I've been getting calls from these idiots for abt. 2 years now. I talked to one of them before, already skeptical. I asked them which one of my credit cards they are offering a lower interest rate on (I only have one, but tried to catch them in a lie), but they didn't give a solid answer. I asked them what my balance was, they said they didn't know. I asked them to tell them what my current interest rate is, they didn't know. I told them that if they were legit, they'd already have my account info there. They hung up. Scammers! They're trying to commit identity theft. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION. Identity theft is THE hardest thing to fix, it will make your life a living hell! The movie, The Pelican Brief ... every bit of that can happen to any one of us as, all of our information is in a computer somewhere.

Received this call, then pressed the button to connect to their live operator, who asked "... you want to reduce your credit card rate? (something like that"), then I yelled at the top of my voice saying "No - I want you to take my number of your list" - Must have given the other side an earful. This might discourage people from being employed by this scammer company. The Govenment's not going to make its do not call list work for such law-UNabiding businesses. We have to be on the attack, one way or the other.
