I got a call saying I had a refil ready, when asked is this ann smith I hit one for yes, then it asked my birthday but I hung out. I called my local walgreens & they said I do NOT have any perscriptions ready or even processing. A few hours later I got another voicemail from the same number saying "ann smith you have a prescription ready from walgreens. Seems like a scam to me.
This is a legit number for Walgreens. I just refilled my prescription that I get every single month. NOT A SCAM.
No, it's a legitimate Walgreen's phone number. I get a call from them once a month to refill my prescription.
You are correct. I called back the number since I missed the call, and it said "Thanks for calling Wal-greens reminder service", before I hung up. I am leary about such numbers, but after reading your statement here I tried it myself. Of course no big corporation will know all numbers from every state, and right up front they will tell you it is not theres' due to they do not want to thought of as someone harrassing them with phone calls. All you have to do is call back the number, AS I DID, and it does say wal-greens...sorry anyone not believing here, if you think it's a harrassing phone call, then you have already put your mind to what it is. If it is someone harrassing you, you do have several options too. Call the police make a report, call the phone company make a report, block the number if you can, or even call the number back to see who it is...I would hate to think that someone was after me and a lot of things were scams..
It is Walgreens. What a wonderful service, they verify everything - your name, the prescription name etc... and if you confirm the refill automatically, saved me the hassle. very cool.
I don't have a refill (hurt my shoulder recently... that's about it). They asked me to enter my date of birth and then my social security number or something like that. RED Flag because the local pharmacy would only call to tell you the Rx is ready. You also can call in and give them your RX number. I think their system has been hacked. Be very careful about anyone calling you asking you to verify your information... they called your number so they should have YOUR information, right?
