It's Walgreens. Just refilled my prescription. Gave them my birth date for verification. Not my SS, not my Moms maiden name, not my first born child name or my dogs name or credit card info or insurance info or 401k info or where I work, how many times I wiped my [***], birthmarks, tattoos, DNA sample, etc. It's nice being able to refill prescriptions automatically instead of having to stand in line & wait for them. Thanks Walgreens.
You fail to realize that the number isn't linked to your local Walgreens location specifically. So if you call the intern at the counter, they'll clearly tell you it's a scam - but it's not. Walgreens has an operation that reaches far beyond the walls of your own town. This number is in fact Walgreens and will refill your prescriptions so you can pick them up at your local location.
I have an idea. If your worried about scams and people Phishing numbers, why don't you do what is suggested by gov. groups, retailers and security experts since caller I.D. first came out. If ya don't recognize a number, don't answer it or read the voice or text message- They will quit calling or if they don't it won't matter cause you just hit dissconnect when you don't recognize the #. Then we can all stop reading these posts, and you'll all have alot more free time on your hands to do something worthwhile

I switched pharmacies over 2 years ago and I'm still receiving these calls that I have a prescription ready.
This is a real number for Walgreens. After calling them back they named my wife and said she had some refills. After giving them her birthdate, they name the 4 medications she is taking and asked if I wanted to refill them. I pressed one to have them refilled and they named the local Walgreens where I could pick them up the following day.
You have an option if you want to be careful with medical information since this is not coming from the local Walgreens. Their pharmacies have enough to do handling the customers' prescriptions. Given HIPAA attempting to protect, but so much personal information sadly being hacked and sold just do not answer this number that reverses to originating from Nebraska. Then determine if you need a refill or new prescription and call into the local Walgreens' conversant or order through a pharmacist or pharmacy assistant. They will even call the MD's office for a new prescription if needed. Also if preferred you can call your doctor's office for assistance. Love computers and automation, but we did function before their invention.
