just got a call from this number was a computer but said her names was heather and said my credit cards were ok but to call them to lower my interest did not state who the cards were from, I hung up at this point.
I did not pick up when I saw the area code 406 since I have no contacts whose numbers begin with that area code. I did however, enter the phone numer 406-720-2099 into my cell phone list under the name "Bogue Pest". That way, I will surely see it's a bad call to pick up the next time they call.
406-720-2099 called my number on do not call list. My child answered the phone as a computer talked to him. I tried to call the number back--auto busy signal. Looked it up and saw all these posts.
call from this number and didn't answe and machine picked up, lost contact. When I get a recording I just hit the pound button and it messes up their recording. Other day I had Foot Loose playing on my computer and the phne rang, I grabbed it up and hit talk and pumped up the volume on the music and stuck phone to it. lost connection..
This is only one of the many numbers these criminals are using to gain your credit card info! It has been going on for months and is constantly reported but the U>S, Government continues to ignore their duty.
Once again...CARD SERVICES offering lower rates. I've had it up to here with these idiots. I just enjoy pressing '1' and yelling and cussing at their agents, it's the only way I can relieve my frustration with these nuisance calls that I have been getting for years. WHY DOESN'T THE FTC, FCC DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS???????????????????
Just got a call from this number. Got the recorded message, I knew by the fact that no company name was mentioned in the recording that it was a scam but I wanted to try and get as much info as possible that I could provide when reporting the number. Once the operator, a guy named William answered, I asked if he could provide me with the name of his company and he immediately hung up on me.
For Release: 02/08/2012FTC Shuts Down Robocallers Who Claimed to Reduce Credit Card Interest RatesMarketers Settle Charges They Deceived More Than 13,000 ConsumersThe Federal Trade Commission has reached a settlement with four of the defendants in an allegedly phony debt relief services operation that claimed that, for $995, it would dramatically reduce consumers' credit card interest rates. Under the settlement, reached as part of the FTC's continuing efforts against frauds that target financially strapped consumers, the defendants will be banned from robocalling consumers and from selling debt relief services. The operation, based in Canada and New York, used telemarketing boiler rooms in Orlando, Florida, to defraud consumers. Although the defendants operated under several different names, they often used "AFL Financial Services," or variations of the name "AFL."
I've seen this number on my caller ID several time. I just got a call from this number and hit 2 to get removed from the list. Instead, someone picked up the line and said thank you for paying your credit card on time you are eligible for a rate reduction. I said I want to know who this is and why you are calling me. She said it was Visa/Mastercard. I said who do you represent? She said Visa/Mastercard, we are calling you because you pay your credit card bill on time. I said what bank do you represent? I heard muffling, then she said Bank of America? Then she hung up!
