I'm on "Do Not Call", but routinely get calls telling me the window is closing to lower my credit card rate making it sound like it's from my credit card company. When they start asking questions about my credit card fishing for information, I say I thought you were my bank and should have that information and they get nasty and hang up. When I call the number back to get the name of the company, I get a recording telling me the number is "not in service". The telephone company knows who owns these numbers, and they should be stopped. Why are telephone companies helping to violate "do not call"?
I keep getting calls from this company. Have asked them multiple times to stop and remove me from their call list. They just hang-up. They tell me they are going to lower my credit card interest rate etc. Clearly a scam. When you call back you get a recording saying the number is not in service.
I get this call EVERYDAY! It stopped for a while and now they are at it again. I am on the National DO NOT CALL list. But you have to know who and where they are calling from to report them. Lots of luck with that!
This was the latest in a seemingly-endless series of RoboCalls offering to lower my interest rate. What is the most effective way of getting this practice to stop.
I am receiving calls from this number, they fill up my voice mail, and irritate me a lot.
Again, another call from this number. Recorded message says something about lowering my interest rates. A not in service number, when I called back. I called my phone provider and was told to put my number on the 'do not call registry' every year or so. Whenever you give out your phone number, and it gets put into a computer system somewhere, there's the chance that it will go back on the list. The 'do not call' registry number is 888-382-1222. Also put this 9999 number on my block list on my phone. Let's see if that works.
These people are very cagey. They call with the message that they are calling from "card services", and then they make the statement that "your card is currently fine". That's when I hang up. I'm threatening to stay on the line and tell them I'm reporting them to Dept of Consumer Services in my state.
These calls from "Card Holder Services" are coming in at least 2 times a day and sometimes every couple of hours. As Steve said above, it's always "Rachel". I have pressed the number 3 to be taken off their list, but it doesn't function. I press 1 to speak with someone and tell them to stop calling and they slam the phone down on me.I am sure contacting a lawyer could help to a certain extent with harassment calls (which these are), but if they can't really be traced, then I don't know what to do. I can't tolerate the phone ringing with these calls. (No, I can't ignore the phone at all.)
This is the 3rd call I've gotten from the same recording. It's the same credit card services call wanting to reduce my APR to 6.9%. The call today was from 407-480-9999. On 8/30, I got the same recording from 321-3304-9999 (a Florida ID); then, 3 minutes later, the same recording from 701-661-1851. Both recordings stated I could Press 3 to be removed from the call list. I did. Must not work.
