I got a message moments ago from this number. 2x it said, "If you're expecting a phone call from this number, press 1" .. I have ebay and haven't used it in months.. I'm actually packing to move and in the chaos of all that, I looked up the number to see if was the movers to verify info, etc.. but I can't imagine who/why called me from that number and left that message. oh well! thank goodness for google voice (setup your own online phone number for free, voice mail sends message to your gmail email account.. it's free. and sooo nice!12/13/11

This is an eBay number. It is possible that someone had that number registered with eBay and probably moved and never informed ebay. When somenone needs a pin to get into an eBay account they call from that number to give you a pin by voice. They change the number to press 1 or 2 or 3 just to avoid a computer to answer those calls from eBay. This is happening to you ( which) that made me belive that it is actual eBay calling to a number (as I said before)who it is registered with eBay.
If you initiated a password change, you have the option of getting an email, text, or phone call with a pin to change your password. What may have happened is someone gave ebay an incorrect phone number to verify for a password change. I did this's tonight to change my password. It IS ebay. Listen to the options on the message.
They just called my 10 year old daughters cell phone. She has neither an Ebay or a Penpal account. So anyone who thinks this is a legitimate "security" call is mistaken. If this phone number is a valid Ebay number, then I would have expected the company to have addressed the issue of someone hacking into their phone system by now, given that this scam has been going on for several years. Makes me concerned about the overall security of using Ebay.
Feeling bored at 3am??Go to eBay, search listings and choose a random ID.Go to login page, enter selected ID and choose "forgotten password" - when requested select confirm by telephone - some unlucky guy gets woken up in the middle of the night.I'm not saying this is what is happening but I wouldn't put it past some sad *****s
