I worked their don't even talk to them on the phone the employees put up fake sales trust me
Yep, got a call from these people as well. And when I called the number back it was a newspaper telemarketer voice mail (which was full). Very annoying. If this is indeed the NP, this is certainly not a good sales technique.
I keep get calls from this number everyday at different times *1-416-360-2172*. Toronto Sun???? I live in Nova Scotia.
Got my 12th call in 10 days from these people. Last call I actually got one of the retarded people who work there to speak and demanded I be removed from the list. They hung up on me (I really wasn't all that pleasant) and have received around 5 calls from them since. If it really is the National Post doing some telemarketing, lets get the number for their customer relations people and start leaving them some messages about this unbelievable annoyance that they are inflicting on people.
This number called me 13 times yesterday!! I refused the call every time. This has been going on for over a week now, with the number of calls different each day. There is never anyone on the other end. These call really need to talk.
Nice spam Debbie. If you are amazed that third-party companies are hired for stuff like this (standard practice for the past 15 years at least), then you are the stupidest "private investigator" who ever lived. The only "case" you have is they shouldn't be calling phone numbers registered on any "do-not-call" service. And that's not something you "build a case against", it's something you simply report to the do-not-call service, end of story. You are doing the exact same thing by spamming this message board - sticking your nose out randomly, in the most pathetic way, to make a buck.P.S. The messages people have left on here have explained everything about this number, thanks folks!
After I cancelled a Toronto Star subscription in February, I began receiving one, then two, daily calls from "Nwspapr Call CN". I finally complained to the Star and was told that I would never be called again by the paper or this telemarketer. I asked the purpose of the phone calls and was told it was to verify that I was receiving my paper. I asked how the telemarketer could find this out, since no one ever asked me a question. There was always a few seconds of silence, and then a "hangup". And in any case, I had cancelled my subscription. So I asked again about the purpose of the calls if it was not to harass me, or to punish me, for canceling. This time a "probably" was added: it was probably to verify etc. My request to speak to someone in authority who would answer my question was ignored. I wondered if this was because it was a few minutes before the Star's offices closed. Then I wondered if the Person I was talk, ing to was in a different time zone. I asked, politely I thought, if she was perhaps located in India or Bangladesh. That would have made it more difficult to know to whom she thought I could speak. I'll never know what I could not reach someone more senior or in-the-know. She hung up on me. As with many others, any thoughts I might have had about resubscribing at some point in the future have also vanished.
