Calling on behalf of Children's Wish FoundationYES this is a FAKE charityIt is a for profit business that collects funds and donations using the name of legitimate charitiesFirst, they run their profitable business, then they donate whatever is left over to the charity, taking the tax receipt for themselves!Only a small fraction of what you give to them, either in money or in goods, ever reaches the intended charity.The charities don't care about this because anything they do get is free money to them, and they don't have to count the cost of running the business against their income ... it's not their administrative cost, so their statistics show that more of their income goes to their intended goal, and less to administrative overhead ... they look better. The only loser in all of this is the donors, who think they are supporting a charity, only to have the vast majority of their donation siphoned off by this for profit business on the way.

If this place is trying to help the mentally handicap they need to start with me...cause they're driving me NUTS !...it's getting so bad I've started to hide my own Easter eggs......D'OH !!

It doesn't matter to me whether this charity is legit or not. I have asked them repeatedly to stop calling, but every 2-3months they call 5 or 6 times (I don't answer). They just ignore our requests not to be bothered. Of course they are ruining their reputation as this thread. And I am going to start doing something to make their reputation even worse.

AMEN....they call on Sundays too! Not acceptable. I have my number on the do not call registry...doubly unacceptable. I tell them to remove my # , have nicely a few times...now I'm not so nice. Next time it happens, I'm hitting call trace that involves police...for harrassment. When a human being says do not call me ever again, unless I owe them $.....I deserve the request.

These facktards have no respect for people whatsoever. Thank god I have a phone service where I can manage my unwanted callers, so I never have to hear from them after their first call.These idiots have yet to respect or acknowledge my requests to be removed from their dialect. They just don't give a [***]. Someone needs to throw a rock through their office window with a not attached to it saying f the F off.

Got a call April 1st, saying they were calling from Children's Wish Foundation and there would be a truck in our area to pick up any clothes, toys, decorations, etc. I told her no because I noticed it was a Toronto number, and since I'm over two hours from Toronto, I'd rather just donate in my own community. Now after reading some of these posts, I'm glad I said no. I'd rather take my used items to a Salvation Army or Goodwill in my own area.

I tried that, sent them emails, still another call today.

This is NOT a fake charity. Recycling matters works for the Community Living organization that works with mentally handicapped people. They collect used items and sell them to Value Village and use the money to support their organization.
